Already posted on the Dolan thread, but thought I'd post here too: Need to get new tires as the rear one popped (looked like it was worn down) so was wondering about getting something slightly wider/higher volume.. Currently running 23c Conti Ultras on the stock cheapo wheels that came with my PreCursa, with crud racers front (with the winter training fork) and rear. Do you think I'd be able to squeeze a 25c in there? or even 28? Also does anyone have any tired recommendations? The UltraSports are cheap which is good as I'm skint, but am aware this might be a false economy. Currently do a mix of city riding and more long distance stuff, any advice much appreciated

You can go much bigger in back.
Ultrasport in 23mm is gonna wear out very quickly either way, maybe Durano in 28mm or the Durano Plus if you don't mind the stuffiness for extra durability.
You can fit 28mm, but with that mudguard, it gonna be hard (best I've tried is 25mm).

He says that to all the boys.

Would it be fair say the Durano+ covers the same ground as the Marathon+, only for narrower tyres? And if so, is there a narrower analogue of the Marathon Supreme?

Extra nice that

Ta!

Good for mad skidz then?

Course. I'm mostly scared about going through a puddle and ruining the gum wall. I felt like I should have those archivists gloves on when mounting them, they're going to get so grubby, so fast.

the Durano Plus comparison is a fair one, Marathon Plus exist in 25mm, but they're awful (in term of ride quality and excessive weight).
Not sure about Supreme, I'd says it's like a fatter and more comfortable Durano Plus.

Your only worries is the rim brakes rather.

Side wall of my paselas seems to have a hole in them, not used them for long (bought them nearly new, second hand)
Is it a fairly common problem?
Looking at just getting a pair of Panaracer Ribmos to replace them, before I buy a new set does anyone have a 700x23 pair they arent using? -Edit-trade for moneyz obvs!
Thanks!

700x23
Lufguss is all about 650b or 28mm in 2016 my friend.
You'll never get gramm-rep with 23.
:(

Dang.. harsh but tru. I'm hoping someone will have discarded a pair in disdain.
-
• #3318
Sadly there's no way I'll get 28's in there

You appear to be running two chains.
Is that necessary?
Surely removing the inner, would leave more room for rubber?
£1 plz.
-
• #3320
2 chainz is all the rage..
Can you put it on my tab?
-
• #3321
Plenty of space for 25mm.
And next time, leave the chain longer.
-
• #3322
Omg correct!
-
• #3323
Cool thanks, will try 25s
What do you mean re. The chain? I thought it was too long!
-
• #3324
Unless it's literally at the edge of the drop out, it's too short.
-
• #3325
It has vertical drops, if that helps?
Looking for 35c tyres for for commuting and the odd gravelly lane. I've been pretty happy with the 28c clement strada lgg that are on there at the moment but they don't go any bigger. Any suggestions for around £50 a pair?
Kojaks maybe?
