  • i think you may be able to buy them in pairs but usually its just for one

  • I need to know what tyres are not very tall. or have a smaller diameter - whatever the right term is.

My Schwalbe Stelvios will not fit under my fork crown on the track bike. The hutchinson from my road bike will. but I'd skid through them in no time. They both claim to be 622x23c but are quite different shapes and sizes.

So what 622x23c tyres are the least likely to rub on my fork crown, and reasonably puncture-proof.

By the way what happened to the puncture-proof tyres list? It's not in the list of lists and utfs hasn't come up with it.

  • randonneurs! very puncture proof, (until you get down to the underlayers), and cheap :)

  • james do you get paid on commission by vittoria?

can you get them smaller then 25s?

anyway +1 for the randonneurs but try get them without the reflective strip

  • you'd skid through your front tire in no time?

  • don't skid and get some decent tyres

  • you'd skid through your front tire in no time?

no obviously, but I'd obviously like them to match, so will be using the same tyre on the rear, innit.

  • I used the f search

cheers - I tried searching for puncture tyres and it didn't come up.

  • obviously?
i personally use a puncture proof, hard wearing, hard compound tyre on the rear with a more supple handling tyre on the front.
if they must match, try to find one which comes in size 20 as well as 23, run a 20 up front.

Nope! Just haven't found a tyre I like as much as these yet lol.

  • Although i'd only put them on the back, much better front tyres out there, but for the back they're awesome, and ok for the front I guess :)

randonneurs are 28mm tall, an 25mm wide in the smallest size they do, so i doubt they would fit the bill.

  • Maxxis RE-FUSE - as good as it gets for an all-rounder!

I was intending to get these before the lack of room became apparent. Anyone with a re-fuse on the front going to Easts tonight? can I try your wheel in my forks?

I like my reflective strip. haterz suck my ballz lolz rofl etc

  • Michelin Krylion Carbons - these are the best things I've ever ridden (against Bonty Hardcase, Armadillos and Re-fuse). Nice stripes too...

  • gatorskins are not very high.

  • you obviously haven't been smokin' them correctly.

  • gatorskins is pretty thin.

in all honestly, you're better off mixing and matching them, sometime the best combination are two different tyres.

having says that, I don't skid as much as I normally do, and got a Conti 4 season on the rear, still holding up fine from the occasional skidding.

  • FTW

  • maxxis detonators - so grippy, last forever, not had any punctures in 5 months and they come in colours too! Win win win win

Maxxis make THE best tyres, hands down

  • Vittoria Diamante come in a 20mm and 23mm and probably others.

I have two 20mm Diamante, that I've tried in a single 40k TT that I'd sell.

    Swap you for some Conti's

  • Thanks to Rocksteady I now know that Maxxis Re-Fuse will fit. just! fab.
