At first people thought you were a chancer looking to fleece someone who didn't know better, that's why they were giving you a hard time. Nobody wants to see anyone get ripped off, including you!

• #2853
if you review the thread i think happytramp has summarised it pretty well
-
• #2854
very true, no one really wanted to believe someone could get ripped off that badly, hence the scepticism
-
• #2855
if your claims stand true - and BLB need a chance to respond (hence the thread needs to be reopened) then it does not reflect well on the vendor
-
• #2856
'preciate that, I can see how it looked. I'm no chancer. I honestly bought into the bike as it's a beauty, and genuinely believed in it's value. All is relative, non?
-
• #2857
is not the worst looking bike we've seen by a long shot, if thats any it conciliation. i stand by my orignal comment that with the right stuff it could easily be bike porn
-

Well I have the receipt, it's itemised. They did indeed accept a £1000 'Cyclesheme' voucher and cash payment, but i hear you, it's only my word.
-
• #2859
You're right, at the end of the day it's a nice bike and that's what matters. But being lied to by shop staff isn't on (assuming it was a lie and not a misunderstanding)
-

I was (and still am) just incredulous that BLB go over the voucher limit, knowing what I know I find it hard to believe they would, so I called shenanigans, but if you're legit then it is what it is.
Sorry if you're pissed off

I think i got carried away in BLB, kid in a candy store, and knowing i had the voucher, plus some of my own savings, figured i could blow the budget on something special. I've ridden around London for the past 16 years, either on a bike or motorbike, and feel very strongly about the sub-human treatment cyclists get every day.

I've seen it done a few times in the lbs i worked in, never on a bike more than about £1200 but none the less.

Thanks Void, appreciate that. I've been naive about this whole thing, took it in good humour at first, and really had to bite my tongue at some of the shit being posted, but like someone said, it just fans the flames.

You're not the first and you won't be the last to do crazy shit for the love of a classic Italian bike :)
Peace -

a good sense of humor is the best way to deal with it, many people loose it and start kicking off. its like a test often, if you can stick it people will accept you after a while

Fell in love with the 'Rossin' logo and the aggressive lines of the frame. The chrome ends are beautiful, and the painted arrowheads were going against the trend of chromed ones. I assure you I have no beef with BLB.

Sure, they may have inflated prices, but f**k, how much do petrol stations charge for an egg and cress sandwich?
-
• #2868
I could've sourced the parts on ebay, (or here, if i had half a sodding clue), but wanted to get going on building the bike, it was one helluva kick.
-
• #2869
Well, I've learned something, I thought stores followed the guidelines/rules but maybe my shop is in the minority, don't want to broadcast where I work but it's not a chain. Pisses me off no end that customers can't add a few quid to the voucher but I just have to stick to it.

i think many of us have been guilty of that

No troll you freaks.
Are you Polish or Russian? Just asking if you need someone to help with exchange rates.
That frame's worth maybe £250. -

oh well, i hope you feel better
most of us know the value of things on here, we often have a bit of fun because some people come here, and expect to get back what they paid or think they know better than us, they often get angry and start sling insults about the place. in doing so they unleash a shit storm.
