I think the people who I feel most sorry for are those at Glasto. My idea of hell has now been changed to setting in a field of thousands of people listening to MJ tributes.

Careful, you might get blood on the dancefloor!

It's not getting depressed Mark, just cruel to speak ill of the dead so soon. at least look at the good parts... I mean who hasn't tried to moonwalk at some point in their life?
My issue with this whole thing is the fucking circus of it. It even has the extra large BBC news front page. It's a joke. The affect it is having on people is what depresses me.
OK he didn't get THAT outraged
http://www.londonfgss.com/thread708-130.html#post545324I just did a search for owl arsehole. hur
I tried as well. Must have spelled areshole wrong. Probably made it two words. Cheers!

hahah, what? I want to see this post.
(Owls are wicked, and I stand 100% behind Pistinator in this case. And that's not a fat joke).
I'd forgotten about that; it came from The Onion I think.

It's pretty shit really to go from the thread about the terrible tragedy that happened at Holborn...where everyone has been full of sympathy for the victims loved ones...to then come on here and read this kind of shit.
I'm pretty sure most of you don't know the Holborn victim any better than you knew Michael Jackson...and yet because he's a public figure it's suddenly acceptable to laugh at his death and make jokes.
Unless you know him personally you know nothing about him other than the crap you're force fed through the mass media....and if you are naive enough to think that it's ALL true, then you're pretty stupid. You should maybe spare a thought for the Holborn victims family who have been reading the forum as they'll have been so amazed by the kind words and the love given on the Holborn thread, only to possibly see this and see a different side of the forum.

In the absence of Demerol, I'm going to self administer 8 tins of Grolsch, a couple of blunts and fire up Streetfighter 4.

• #364
Fuck it... 10 tins.

I'm with Scott on this one.

• #366
balki you are class

Check for Michael Jackson's pulse. Can you feel it? Can you feel it? CAN YOU FEEL IT?

Fucking pedo boy get more attention than this poor girl.

In all fairness scott, the circumstances surronding the two different incidents are incredibly different. Jackson wasn't killed by terrorists attempting to propogate a flawed and reprehensible agenda, he was killed, ultimately by a combination of the lifestyle choices that he pursued and the arena in which he chose to live his life. In short, he bought it upon himself. I realise that it is rather more complicated than that but without going into detail, the victims of Holborn weren't aware that they could avoid their deaths.
Due to the massively differing contexts the two cases are rather incomparable.

I think he isn't refering to the terrorist activities but more the girl who was killed there a couple of weeks ago... https://www.londonfgss.com/thread23689-2.html#post766935(already posted by brick)

Completely true....but it's in pretty bad taste to have this going on here and such a different feeling on the Holborn thread when the victims family have just posted yesterday, in my opinion.
-
• #372
scott I don't believe that is true.
This reaction has everything to do with a media-construct and nothing to do with the 'person' of Michael Jackson.
Since we were young we have had these representations forced upon us at every turn.
The reactions are as valid as the heartbroken lamentations of those lining up in front of TV cameras the world over. -
• #373
Scott that's a reductionist theory & no direct comparison should be drawn
-
• #374
I'm referring more to the fact that the Holborn victims family who are currently grieving over the tragic death of a loved one may come on here and see somebody elses death treated as nothing more than a joke.
Just my opinion as i said. -
• #375
It is, in fact, just bad taste, regardless of what else may be going on on this board or by which timeline. The presence of other events and our interaction with them doesn't make it better or worse.
And I wouldn't throw stones too quickly, it's only a week since you denigrated Jade Goody, who is also dead.
Poor Latoya...
