Ain't white and lovely. End.
Thats all apple is, just a fashion thing I swear. I was reading some interview with this dude when the Ipad's come out. He said something along the lines I just picked up my new Ipad, I'm not really sure what it does, but it had the apple logo on it. SO I HAD TO BUY IT.
I just sat there thinking......what a dick.

64.
I dont really use any of those either, I run it on high performance battery wise if plugged in or balanced if unplugged.
This is what shows in the system and applicationsWere these logs captured plugged in or unplugged?
The only warning can be sorted:

Plugged.
One or two. One for MSN ad the other is for VMC service, which I cant figure out stads for.
Will look into the 2nd link properly tomorrow, however first link requires me to subscribe!
(Thanks for trying to help me out on this though, v. grateful) -

VMCService appears to be a Vodafone service: http://www.xraymypc.com/service/V/VMCService.htm
"Detects mobile devices and manages applications that might otherwise conflict with Vodafone Mobile Connect (VMC). If this service is stopped, the VMC software will not work properly, as it will not be able to identify devices or manage conflicting applications."
Do you use Vodafone apps? If not, uninstall any voda stuff and/or Disable this service to see if it makes a difference.
2nd link, ExpertSexChange, just scroll down towards the bottom. They are shit and make it look like you need to sub but the answers are always down the bottom.

That VMC thing is a service right? So, Start > Run > services.msc and find it in the list. Right click, Properties and set it to Disabled. Just remember you've done it when your internet doesn't work overseas!
-
• #409
Done it, thank you :]
Ill try to remember! -

It might not be that but short of doing a full installation it's what I'd do - kill off the stuff that is definitely causing issues.

£75 any good? -
• #414
is it still quick, does it come with word? what is the battery life like?
interested, but concerned about its age..

It's Linux based and runs Openoffice but the Firefox browser and Flash on it don't seem to be upgradeable (at least not with my skillz).
Apparently very easy to install WinXP though. -
• #416
adouble, think I'll pass, feel like I should get something more modern, and preferably with a larger hard drive.
thanks for the offer.. -

Toshiba NB305-10f netbook.
Anyone got one of these they'd like to sell quickly, need to purchase one for my last bit of travelling, and need it for this week!
Can't grab one online as still waiting for new credit/debit cards to be issued. And worried that it wouldn't be delivered in time.
Have cash burning a hole in pocket, cheapest I can find it is for £317 on tottenham court road, any suggestions, offers of help, or unwanted netbook presents gratefully received -

I'd go to John Lewis for an extra £12.
Currys do price match with certain shops as well so that might be worth checking. -
• #419
But Currys are shit... If it's only an extra £12 at John Lewis I'd nab it there... Peace of mind...
-
• #420
I paid an extra £30 to get my new Acer laptop from John Lewis. as they did a warranty with it.
It shat itself a week later, and the hard drive needed replacing...... John Lewis, essentially, told me to fuck off and deal with it myself.their warranty means jack-shit.... go to Micro Anvika.
-
• #421
Really?!?! That surprises me... Ignore what I said then...
-
• #422
suprised me too.... their warranty has alot of small print.
They told me it was void, as I had installed my own software?!? -
• #423
Corny, in your travells in the East stop in Hong Kong, buy the lates model for 30% less of the money*
*maybe?
-
• #424
Surprised me too as well.
I went for John Lewis because they offer a two years warranty instead of the 1 years warranty that Apple offer.
when my laptop shat itself, they replace it free of charge, when the hard drive broke, they replaced that too.
Rob, sound like you're dealing with idiot, which John Lewis did you go? the one I use is the Kingston one.
