• already been sorted, it's simply the crankset not being tighten enough to the BB.

  • Have this issue, when I spin I get this clicking sound from the left crank. I have changed cranks, changed BB, put lots and lots of grease on new BB. Checked the pedals, checked the chain ring bolts, checked everything. (yes I have tightened up the saddle :)

But I still have this click, it's driving me nuts!

I have checked the BB for cracks, can't really see anything that looks suspicious. And what throws me off is that its only from the left side, not both... im left clueless.

Anyone got a tip? take it in to the lbs?

    cheers

  • You you use clipless pedals? If so, check yer cleat bolts.

  • and your handlebar.

  • No, use straps. Thanks for the advice though.

Changed handle bars and tightened them up.

If I stand next to my bike and put pressure on the left crank downwards then push it up with my foot I get the click. But this does not happen when I do it on the right. So I ruled the chain ring out. I have even changed the crank bolts!

What I'm afraid of is that there is a crack in the BB :(

  • what BB is it?

  • Brand new campag centaur.

  • New Campag Centaurs are fussier than most about not being tightened enough. Get your cranks off, get your fucking tool out, and give those cups what they want.

  • Some lubed up rough love?

  • Dirty torque.

  • Ok, put some pressure on that motha, still the clicky noise... i think im loosing it a bit over here

  • Did you grease the axles? If you did, remove the grease and re-install - Vice Versa

  • One step a head of you! :) Same result. Maybe the best thing is to take it into a lbs...

  • what happens if you push the left crank around without pushing on the pedal?

  • same sound, also tried different pedals and different crank arms. Same sound. So I'm preparing for the worse, a crack in the frame somewhere around the BB.

  • Johan it's more like a creak than a click.

and you told me you hadn't greased your axles - which one is it?

  • Or simply a case of not tightening the crank arms to the BB enough.

  • Fred, I have now greased the axels, still same sound. Going to take it into the shop where it was bought this week for a check up. It's driving me nuts!

  • did you grease the thread on the bb shell cups

  • The guy I bought the frame from still has the receipt, and they have a 2 year warranty on all bikes. So I'm taking it back and hopefully they will a) be able to fix it b) give me a new frame

    :)

  • .

  • Yeah I'm aware of that, will tell them it's only been track ridden :) And lets hope they dont read these forums to much! :)

  • or just wear a pink shirt when you go down there :-)

  • haha

  • Hi,

I removed rear wheel to changed tyre. I had to brake the chain, remove wheel etc. After putting everything back in place I discovered that I hear some kind of noise when pedaling. I think that it comes from chain itself. My bike is pretty new and I think that there was no noise before removing rear wheel. Maybe someone have a clue what might be wrong with it?

    Thanks.
