I have one crankbolts that are not tight but can't be removed due to the shitty metal get chipped when trying to loosen it.
...?
Buy some decent crank bolts? They shouldn't be loose, and they definitely shouldn't chip while you try to loosen them.

Similar thing was happening to me, I took everything off and re greased and put back on nice and tight (except chainring bolts) but to no avail.
I then took out the chain ring bolts, cleaned them, greased them and put them back on real tight and my problem was solved.

actually what happen was that the original crank bolts was too wide for the campangolo chainring, so I end up getting a shorter one, I replaced them all with the shorter one unfortuantely one of them refuse to come out and need to be drilled to removed it, that why I couldn't replaced just the one asap.
The Miche bolts are defintely quite weak.

I'm replacing a miche primato (utter crap) BB since mine clicks as well on every rotation. So I'm going for a Campagnolo Centaur BB.
-
• #407
funny, my BB - also a miche primato - also clicks under load (accelerating, climbing)
-
• #408
Mine doesn't click when I accelerate or climb, only when I spin (which is most of the time).
-
• #409
I'd say BB needs taking out, cleaning, re-greasing(bearings), re-tightening - nice and tight. Had the same problem a few months back, fine now

your bike is clearly fucked Ed.
throw it away and start again. -

Bob Jackson?
yeah, that'll be the BB shell coming adrift because they don't bother brazing them in properly
-
• #412
Did you run over one of those people counters recently?

I had something like this and it turned out to be this master link in the chain. I noticed it happened once for every 2 rotations of the cranks, then i noticed that the master link in the chain came round once every 2 rotations of the cranks.
It was a stiff link

Lordy, i've got the same thing on my road bike after switching chainsets, used diff pedals/chain, regreased everything, but still to no avail. after taking bb out, i saw it's not threaded exactly square on drive side and shell needs facing.

I had this problem on my old MTB. Every time I put some good pressure on the pedals, the clicking/squeeking noise started.
If you're completely sure it's not the pedals, then maybe fixing that crankbolt and getting a good one will fix it? Thinking that crank might be just sliiiiightly loose, so it moves abit when pressure's applied and makes the noise.

But if the crank is loose, you either have a busted taper or a busted crank. Or mixing JIS with ISO. Either way, exchange the cheaper part for one that fits or is not broken (the BB)

Everyone stop posting, I've already sort it out, but thanks netherless.
tighten the crank, clicking disappear, ride smoother than melted butter on a baby's arse.
The crank is simply not tightened enough to the BB, I didn't notice it because it feel solid and stable, thank fuck for that as I carefully chosen the component specifically to ensure a smooth and reliable ride.

is your bike a pipebomb?

But i like posting in this thread, I can relate to crappy bbs and loose cranks..

Your tyres are on backwards,
Or it could be the logos not aligned up properly.. :)

i'm still going to back the handlebars being the source of the sound.
+1
surprisingly a friends bike "click" sounded like it came from near the BB, but it was actually the handlebar interface.
it just appeared to be coming from there... weird. -

It might be your legs, chop them off and go to the body shop for some new ones.

it just appeared to be coming from there... weird.except as ed reminded me, he doesn't actually hear it, rather feels it through the legs.
in which case, chances are its the miche BB, as though I never had a problem with mine, lots of people complain about them coming loose, and clicking. But yeah, the handlebar click is a hidden menace that is slowly taking down bicycle riding from the inside...
sinister fucks, thats why I ride using my finger and the stem.
BLB installed it for me for free when i went to pick up the frame, so no idea thought.
I'll find out tomorrow netherless.
