  • Really didn't notice commute any worse than any other day...

Oh no wait, I live in South London, strike has no meaning to us.

Enjoyed seeing so many people walking over Waterloo Bridge, I hope they enjoyed their walk, maybe they'll get off their lardy arses again one day without being forced to.

Also smirked a bit at poor old hire-bike users trying to find a central space to leave the bikes. They probably thought Yeah! when they set out having managed to get a bike, then the Oh Noes when they realised they'll have to park it halfway back home.

insert image of piltdown man with medal.

  • Seeing as i work in a none unionised, feudal industry where if someone doesn't like the cut of your jib otherwise known as 'face doesn't fit' you can be summarily dismissed and career ruined, all i can say is... Up the workers!

You chose to become a model...

  • Mmm, side-on grunting

I'm getting hot under the collar just thinking about it

  • I think there's probably just as many people not used to driving in central london during a strike as there are those getting on their bikes and not being used to it.

Was just pondering the same. Hopefully the carnage they experienced today will put them off ever driving into central London ever again. Tho I expect an equal number of stryclists will now see commuting by bike as a much more difficult and risky option that it really is. Probable net result of the strike will be to increase the demand for the tube.

^^^ Yeah I think so too. Why they've been given buses to drive I don't know.

    It's funny because it's true.

  • Took a 9am conference call at home and just enjoyed a leisurely ride in with very little traffic and a tail wind.

This means the ride home will be traffic hell with a head wind and steady rain. Balls.

  • Seemed fine to me this morning, perhaps a few more cars on the main routes than usual, but I chose a quieter route and dodged most of that. Quite a lot of people on bikes, mostly competent (possible sucker-rule violation on my part).

  • ^ You don't ride an all black fixed gear and have a red tartan scarf by any chance?

Whoever it was on my back wheel a couple of times today wouldn't take the hint...

No, that was a different arsehole.

  • When was that at Finsbury Park? It was fine when I got there about 9.45.

  • That's not nice, she might be unwell, diabetic or something.

A mate says CS2 was bliss, he rode swiftly past about a mile of practically stationary traffic, most vehicles having a single occupant.

  • the sign saying you can't buy tickets is more priceless than the dozing worker imo.

  • Got the bus (gammy shoulder), would have been quicker to walk all the way. Ended up walking down to Camberwell to a stop I knew lots of people would be getting off at.

It still surprises me the number of people who get the bus to go 3 or 4 stops. There were some people I left at my stop who then got off the bus at Camberwell.

  • I cant remember the last time I bought a ticket from someone other than from that person they put inside those machines to post them out of the slot when I want to pay the £80 fine to leave London for somewhere 10 miles away.

People only queue up to ask what ticket they need because we Brits love queueing, right? I mean, you wouldn't look at the internet for help in advance when you can wait longer for the same information later? Especially when its really close to when the train you dont know about is leaving. Tourists just join in because that's the main reason they come to the UK, as advertised in the brochure.

  • I enjoy the inconvenience of the tube strikes, I only wish they'd commit to longer periods. Say a month or so.

    More strikes please.

  • even better than strikes - Johnson could not shitcan 1000 people like he promised not to do before you got elected in order to 'save costs' while plowing millions of public funds into his half-arsed, poorly executed & unnecessary vanity projects.

  • Cycled kings x to st pauls and it was chocca at 2:00 in the afternoon... Made for some fun filtering around the British museum. And the that bit of bus lane being newly open was very handy...

Apparently taken at 5.40pm on Tuesday evening. Still doesn't look good but nothing to do with the strike...

    hint = streaming snot rocket?

  • Canary Wharf starting to get busy as people head out early to beat the crush.

  • lol I am having my second work lunch

  • I'm going to retire to the safety of a pub I think..

  • Wouldn't want to get injured in any (c)rush now would I? hiccup
