http://www.cheesecake.com.au/ FTW
http://www.cheesecake.com.au/ListProductsForState.aspx?GP=1&ST=VIC (the shop in Mildura would do a MASSIVE platter of loads of their cake varieties)
Mal's caramel cheesecake was pretty rockin' too..

Its summer, and the thought of cheesecake, in a park, on a hot afternoon, being washed down with cold beer, or white wine.......is sounding like a plan.
Anybody?

^ one of the yummiest cheesecakes Ive tasted was milk chocolate and baileys..damn good!

@ Hovis... that c\cake is really rich n heavy... its seems the preference is for that type rather then the lighter airy ones which are not baked, not as many, if any eggs, and lighter cheese.
how did you dress it or did you leave it as is?

Im sure Mals cheesecake is delish! what flavor is that? Ferrero Rocher?
Im not feeling the cheesecake shop in Aus\NZ...theirs are generic based with diff flavors, and the taste is chalky and bland... id score them a low 1 out of 10...

Err.. "caramel" as above :P
They are Ferrrorororor rockers or whatever on top though :)Bah! When I last went to the cheesecake shop they were great and certainly not a single base with just topping changes. Saying that, they did change what was offered between stores. Melbourne ones never had the mashup the Mildy store had.
Polish cheesecakes are currently FTW.. they're not as sickly sweet as the Aussie ones.. google "sernik"

Yes, that's the proper stuff. My mum used to make it all the time. Very nice indeed. I always used to like the simplicity--for some reason, I've never liked fruitcake or other very 'mixed' cakes much.
By the way, I never realised that Quark was considered a kind of cheese ... I think it's more like yogurt and can be flavoured either savoury or sweet. I always used to think that the name Käsekuchen was ironic and meant to reflect that the cake ended up looking a little like a cheese ...
Anyway, haven't had one since I became vegan, but I'm sure there'll be a good vegan recipe floating around somewhere.

If you're ever in Glasgow there's a legendary vegan cheesecake you get at the record shop/venue/vegan restaurant/Glesga institution mono. I have no idea how they make it. Must be voodoo involved somewhere along the line.
