Chuffed for Wiggo, lets hope he keeps it up! Ooerr.

• #878
anyone noticed the 'little dish fitter' on the strongbow ad looks exactly like mark cavendish?
-
• #879
just watched the highlights. Wiggins is a frickin legend!

Flat stages like today are boring.
Yes, let's see how well Wiggo does on the steeper climbs.
-
• #881
that was the highlight of the day - amazing footage of him descending at a rate of knots making look easier. so elegant.
the dr car was so close - there were also points where he swung through corners past motorbikes that were pretty close as well.He was doped.

Wiggo to-day awesome, why did he beat up the team van?
He was wigging out.

anyone know where i can see the cancellara descent online?

Well predicted, Winston!
As for Cancellara, it was just like watching me descend the Earls Court flyover in heavy traffic. Genuis bike handling!
Andy's right though, a boring stage until Evans had a go (apart from Cancellara's descent). Not sure if Lance let Contador go or not. He didn't look like he was in trouble at the finish line, but then again he's always had a good poker face.
Good potential breakaway stage today, one for big Jensie?

I think Lance couldn't be seen to respond to Contador. He'd have gone on another wheel if someone else had tried to bridge the gap, but he wouldn't drag everyone back up to Contador.

Yes.
As for Cancellara's descent, there's about 15 secs worth on this clip from 1m 15 secs onwards. Not the good stuff when he was passing the rock walls with 2" to spare though.
Try the ITV player for last night's highlights show.

At what point was the decent in the stage? The ITV4 highlights have been doing me wonders. I've been working at the moment and no way to get out t watch any of the stages. I get home and I get a chance to watch all of the interesting bits and usually the whole of the last 20k or so.
Have other people found better highlights for anytime watching?

http://www.youtube.com/user/TheRoBByy2009That is brilliant. What a great way to show a tour virgin how exciting a stage can be.

anyone know where i can see the cancellara descent online?
Whole ITV4 highlights program is available on the ITv website - he hit 90kph!
-
• #891
90kph? that is lightning quick for a bicycle. i'm quite new to road cycling in general and although I've always enjoyed watching the tour de france, I realised yesterday just how much pressure these guys put on their equipment. I always think of the bikes as lightweight and delicate.
The scenery is just incredible too.

...and a tiny amount of rubber in contact with the road
-
• #893
They go faster than 90 kph. Sean Yates was once clocked doing 117 kph. That's 72 mph.
-
• #894
Slow swiss gitbag.
Can't have been cadel that kicked it off coz he doesn't attack.
Lance can't tow the others back to contador and he was acting for the cameras. If conta fails he'll be the first to ride over him
Let me know if you can see the pic
We should be watching at the finish in st geron ?? Today. Rolla kit..

I can see the pic. Is that the view from your window?

I was on a guided ride a few months ago in the dales and we went down a very steep long straight road, my speedo showed 50.5mph and I was braking hard. The guides speedo showed 67mph. Couldn't believe it
-
• #897
Ive only managed 42mph on my Kona cindercone with very knobbly tires. 38.99mph on the same bike off road (forest track) mind. No speedo on road bike yet.

what kind of a cunt is cancellara!

Remember 2007, when the wiggmeister went early and stayed out in front all day, If I remember he was about 20 mins ahead at one point! Got caught withh about 4k left. Was with Confidis then. Best bit of that tour.
