  • The australian commentators that i've been streaming have just claimed wiggo as an aussie... Wtf?

  • Can't be, his voice isn't nearly high pitched enough.

  • great spurt from the spaniard and a deserved win. he was the one that got the front four piling on again as the second four were closing.

any news on Voigt? saw the spill and he must have lost a lot of bark - good handling by the motorbike rider right behind him.

none of you lot in italia uno but spotted voichek taking a few moments away from the radio

  • missed it all, in meetings.. damn.. tomorrow then Roseland and Columbiere both great climbs and my meetings end at 1.30pm.. so might slope off for a coupla hours and head over to watch it live..

descending ehh ask Rob Hayles, he describes it best.. 'steer it with your arse lads'..

  • Wiggins could make it interesting on the time trial

  • someone please tell me Voigt is okay - i love that man.

  • dude relax he's fine. bit of road burn though

  • Only if he holds on tomorrow. Even then, it's going to be hard for him to make it two minutes interesting over 40k. Not impossible but not easy. My guess is Contador is going to make his move tomorrow.

  • He'll make it interesting for Lance though, would like to see him on the podium.

  • Think Voight is ok, but looks like he's defo quit the tour.

  • cheers claire, yeah i had heard that is it for him this year. still a winner as far as i am concerned.

  • too bad for jens voigt, he is such an agressive rider and incredibly commited to the team, very much of the caliber of sean yates. seems like he is in hostipatl with multiple injuries but conscious. hope that was not his last tour for him.

  • +1 J-dub.. Pity he didn't go for any lone breakaways this year :(

  • who noticed them using Harmonic 313 as backing music?

Good news of Jens Voight - he's probably broken things but is awake and talking.

  • thanks for that update steff. he's a great rider, brilliant professional and a lovely man. heal well jens.

  • When the ITV 4 highlights brought up that headshot of him I actually feared the worst. Glad he's ok - ish.

So four Cat. 1 climbs tomorrow? Shiiiiiiit this is going to be good...

  • When the ITV 4 highlights brought up that headshot of him I actually feared the worst.

Me too. Had my hand over my gaping mouth and everything. That stack looked bloody awful. How did that even happen? ITV4 highlights said he got transferred to another hospital for an MRI scan for spinal injuries. They mentioned it was a precautionary measure. Phew!

Well done Astarloza. Always awesome to see how chuffed riders get when they win their first tour or road race stage.

Jonny, not entirely sure if I'll be riding tomorrow or going down to Italia Uno, nut I'll let you know if I do.

Great end of stage today. really please ITV have managed to get extra rights for this last week.

Just thinking I'm not sure I know what next week will mean with no more TDF to occupy me!?

  • ^ I wonder if there's a way of watching all of the previous tours...

  • Good stage, managed to avoid results untii home for highlights, best tour for years, and gotta be the best ever if you're supporting the uk riders. Sprint stages AND mountain/GC.
And wiggo grew up training at HH.
If he, unbelievebly, pulled off the big win, it would make team sky/GB's "British tour winner in 5 years" aim a bit redundant!

Ha! I was thinking about that today too, BW Twitter said he'd spoken to Shane Sutton this morning and I reckon SS was telling him not to fuck up the Murdoch millions for everybody!

There's some slomo footage of the Voigt crash on Youtube he was so unlucky; hit that bump just as he was shifting his hand from hoods to drops and front wheel on the white line. No chance :(

Agreed - It would be great if we could put together a night somewhere with vids of the greatest stages ever

  • Anyone else see Evan's brief interview on the ITV highlights? I've waited 2 1/2 weeks for some Cadel-ism's. He is not a happy bunny, I assume it's with his team, as Evans had Van Den Broeck up the road but didn't drop back to help, just like big Jens did for the Schlecks.
