Amazing kick from Armstrong. Worth remembering that Contador is still ahead without having had to do anything in the least dramatic though.
Contadors advantage will go once they're over the top. Armstrong knows this. The descent is a leveller if climbing is your forte.

Switchback heavy. This is going to sort the real descenders from the straight line tuck merchants.
-
• #1604
two minute gap over the top. I sense an untidy finish in this.

yup...
Voigt... was at the back of the chasing pack on the descent and his bike went from under him.
Sliding on skin. -

Marchante also had a spill, FWIW

• #1615
Gomez Marchante also stacked but got back on again.

got all excited that bradley was gonna take heaps of time out of armstrong, and possibly jump to 2nd in the GC, but then Armstrong just swanned up to contador's group...

Let see if Armstrong can keep the pace when the route flattens a little bit. A careful attack out of Wiggins could see him slipping back.
-
• #1618
great break by Astarloza! where did that come from?!
-
• #1619
2k left to go. My money is on Roche and no change at the top of the GC.
-
• #1620
epic
-
• #1621
Bloody hell - I thought Astarloza was going to clip a barrier in that chicane.

• #1622
I was utterly wrong

they were tight and you could see he was tired..perfect by the spaniard

Next stage then. I reckon Contador will effectively win the race on this one on the last two climbs. Not sure about Wiggins though. If he doesn't break he should be in the top three in Paris. If not, still good for a top ten. Armstrong could go either way.
