Great place to watch the tour, especially at this time of year - I used to spend a fair bit of time there when i lived in the Alps, some top riding round there

i went there for a day when i was MTB'ing near bourg st maurice.
it was very hot compared to higher up the mountains, it was rammed full of tourists, i ate a nice steak but there was no aircon in the restaurant, there is a good choice of ice cream, it was rammed full of tourists, the lake was nice but there wasn't much room between the shore and the road, it was rammed full of tourists. it's not a big place and there are some nice twisty streets rammed full of tourists.not somewhere i could go for a week as it would bore me shitless but to watch the tour and eat ice cream? why not.
Annecy=nice, I bought a dog there once...and called it Nancy.

Has anynoe been to Annecy before? I am thinking of catchin the train down there for the TT stage next week?
Went there last summer for the day whilst holidaying with friends in Samoens.
Quite touristy but a nice little town. Rented a 'speedboat' to blast around the lake which was fun.

Saw that, such a shame.. apparently a policeman came off his bike and it slid into the spectators. There are a couple more injured I think but they're going to be okay thankfully.

It was fricken hot there last year, very nice, rammed with tourists. You could head for the bottom of the lake for quietness, there was a bus or even better, cheap bike rental from the train station I think (oddly, if you arrived by train) Also a converted train line bike path for most or all of the way on the west side
