  • Cavendish nipped Thor for 8th. Looks like Evans crashed in the closing kilometres though.

  • evans definitely out of it now

    EDIT- within the 3km mark so... no wukkas

  • How far down do the points go?

  • 30th I think.

  • Good for Cavendish, bad for Evans. No news on Alberto Condor.

  • Points go down to 25th.

    Cav would have got 18 points for 8th, Hushovd 17 for 9th.

  • BBC says 13 & 12 points...

  • Good for Cavendish Cycles, bad for Evans. No news on Condor Cycles.

    for a moment there I thought you're talking about bike shop.

  • After his crash, Evans is in Cycle Surgery

  • BBC says 13 & 12 points...

    They need to read this;

    Is he on the Edwardes?

  • Blimey - just seen the overhead replay of the sprint. Hushovd must be bloody fuming.

    So you worked out the pun then did you Ed? Now,can you tell me what lock Armstrong uses and why he should use a different one? :)

  • Nerdy but interesting.

    Wiggo's Garmin download from the prologue:

  • Mmm, very interesting. Apparently he averaged 18.2 mph. Though in his defence he rode 30 miles when the course was only 15 kilometres.
    Not much of an advert for Garmin.

  • took him 9.5 hours (with 1h42m riding time) .........two "recce" laps and then the race later in the day?...if you zoom in on the map there are three tracks, plus on the timing, elevation, power and cadence tabs there are three distinct peaks...

  • can Lance make up exactly 2 seconds to tie with Contador excluding the time trial? When there was the break in the peleton the other day with wiggins, he was put 15 seconds up. So my question is, is 15 seconds the minimum time gap given

    He's been getting aggro from the team, his words, about how he's handling the press, and has been asked to big up the Garmin 705.

    He then proceeds to do so via Twitter;

    He strikes me as being a very funny man.

    No. The 15 seconds was the time between Cavendish, the stage winner, crossing the line and the first rider in the second group. It's a bit confusing where stage finishes are concerned.

    Anyway, it's theoretically possible for Armstrong to make up those two seconds and tie on time with Contador.

  • i think BW is possibly a better climber than Lance. i hope this is confirmed in the next week.

    Top speed is impressive, check the elevation - the hill was smaller in the afternoon!

    And if you change the map to satellite photos you can see he went through gardens, across rooftops, through swimming pools...

    Let's see. I wonder if he'll fade as those who've doped remain relatively strong, whilst those who are clean fade first. Tomorrow's stage is tough, then there are 5 tough stages, 4 mountain, 1 time trial, between Sunday and next Saturday. There's a lot of racing still to be done.

    A la Stephan Shumacher who was glaringly obvious as a doper. Rode strong day after day.

  • how can you forget vino! dieing one day and ripping the legs off everyone the next. mind you he could descend too.

    That's how he rolled...
