Apparently there was split in the peloton because of a crash in the closing minutes. Wiggins got caught the wrong side of the split and ended up loosing 15 seconds in the GC

That is no where near the same league as the down draft of a helicopter.
We had a kayak rescue session with rescue helicopters. There were some seriously competent paddlers out that day, and everyone swam. The down draught forced my boat completeley under water, trying to hold onto your boat (whils swimming) was impossible. Boats were being blown hundreds of metres away from the group, truly unforgetable experience.
