Quote of the day from BBC textfeeder - "Without radios the domestiques will be busier than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs today!"

That was an interesting fall.

Knocked over by the helicopter's producing too much wind? Jesus. I'd be a bit pissed about that (if that's actually case).

I'm really not sure this is the place to discuss this but...
Thread drift, heh.
It could very easily be said that the forum is a form of contact that could replace the mobile phone for certain things. Rhetorical question - Could you manage without a mobile AND without the forum?
The forum is a shared resource--phones are individualistic. Yes, there is a personal profile on the forum, but the main thing are the shared threads. So I see it as quite a different thing to a mobile phone. But yes--in view of the shared nature of it, I certainly prefer the forum for communicating to a mobile phone. And, of course, I probably could manage without the forum, but I wouldn't want to. If the choice was between a mobile and the forum, I'd clearly choose the forum. If I had to manage without the forum and without a mobile, therefore, I would regret that only owing to not having the forum, but not owing to not having the mobile.

Where's this feeder?

Are there any quick highlights or videos up of this yet? I missed it and it sounds like it could have been an interesting one.

ITV4 coverage has just spent 5 minutes watching snails on the road - is this stage really that boring?!

news.bbc.co.uk/sport Usually there's a link on the page to the textfeed for all major sporting events. As I work in a call centre and can't run any visualfeed with audio I rely on the text until I get home and watch the highlight on ITV4.

They almost got hit though!
And so far, yes. Except for that large crash earlier.

if that were the case, then they wouldn't make it across waterloo bridge.

How'd you figure that?
Helicopters flying around London are at a considerably higher altitude than those flying over the roads in the tdf. -

I'll admitted I hasn't watch the TdF today yet, I was referring to the awful wind when you get across Waterloo Bridge.

Avoid the beans, cabbage and curry.

That is no where near the same league as the down draft of a helicopter. -

It's the cabbage energy gels you need to avoid.

So it does seem to have been the helicopter(s), and it may have resulted in a broken collar bone. Shitty.

Hm, it looks like a dull day on this stage, so I'll make a prediction: I think that Tony Martin will win the Tour.
He's well-positioned, an excellent all-rounder, he's with an excellent team with some of the best strategic minds in cycling, and he won't be guarded anywhere near as heavily as some of the other favourites. I think he can really spring some surprises in the Alps.
Just to stimulate some discussion, like. :)

Who broke their collarbone Mark?
-
• #1045
That would be deadly in a team time trial.
-
• #1046
Arvesen was being checked out by a doctor, who was poking at his collar bone while he was looking less than thrilled.
The Eurosport's commentators then speculated that it could be fuckered.
