needs some fatter tyres doesn't it, or is that just the perspective of the photo?
that rear wheel looks like it is wasting away.
-
• #210
have you filed the dropouts of those rebate forks to correct the geometry?

Yeah it does, built it with what i had just now.
Wasn't expecting it till end of Feb so woulda bought tyres before it came. -

They are Onza trials forks but yeah, i drilled and filed them a bit.
When im getting a bigger tyre for the back il replace the front with a bigger one too and it should fill up the fork a bit better. -

Thanks, I used a hacksaw to cut through the welds then filed and sanded it smooth, i was at work so had no power tools and it was quiet so i just took my time.
The mount is quite flimsy anyway so there's not too much to cut.
You maybe can't see in the pic but there is a polished looking patch on the legs where the mounts were. I cut strips of wet n dry and kind of wrapped them around the legs to sand out the filing marks.
I'v not cut the disc mount off so closely because a) it's underneath/behind so not seen so much and b)its really close to another weld so dint want to weaken anything. -

well doneThanks, can't wait to get bigger tyres on it and i'd like to get my hands on some JOL or similar straps but don't fancy his waiting list much.
Also thinking of getting higher rise bars. -

• #222
are those the fall guy for 26" wheels or 20"?
-
• #223

26".
They are a bit long axle2crown though which is why i modded the dropouts.
Not too bad a weight. -
• #224
yeh ih ave a pair of the tuf guys which are 40cm a-c which i think is good, but you can get the fall guy in 20" which is 38cm a-c, is that too small?
might end up just right, bruisers are 40 though. The onza tuf guy is the exact same geo ass a bruiser fork btw, but for £20.
-
• #225
Cool, does the Tuf guy have rake? it's hard to tell on the ebay ads but i thought the fall guy might be the only one without rake. I guess if 38cm a-c was too small you could probably get away with removing some material from the bottom of the steerer tube.
your loss :-)
(I use 64GI so don't spinout, but it can be heavy going at slower speeds)
