  • I suppose. I'd just want to keep the saddle to bar drop erm... not a drop.

In truth, I don't have a fucking clue what I'm talking about. I'd have to have a go on someone's Bruiser to find out if it could work for me. Slamm's is nice.

  • Could easy run 3" rise bars on a BMX stem, and a lot of folk run some spacers too. It's all about keeping that top tube out of your crotch.

  • True. Ideally I'd have 2cm of spacers under a BMX stem with 3" risers.

  • I'm 6"7 man! Where'd you order yours from?

    Direct from the distro.

The reason that i thought about ordering a small is that i reckon the medium will be officially too low seat height wise for me but as it's a trick bike and not gonna be ridden for miles and miles it doesn't bother me and i thought if i was gonna go small i might be as well to go really small, more chuckable etc.

I think you need to go to a shop with a jig, believe me it'll make a huge difference in figuring out your sizing.

  • Harry, i thought your classic HHSB knowledge would be more on point given your place of work . . . i think you need a read through of the porn thread to refresh your memory

    hangs head in shame

  • Just got an email from winstanleys new date for scissor has been moved forward to 03 of Feb

  • Was just about to post this, woooo I'm so excited.

  • Ed, what size are you getting?

  • Was just about to post this, woooo I'm so excited.

Yeah same was having a conversation with a mate was so tempted to cancel my order and get a cutter, luckily got this email through.

  • Rik - Medium, 54.5 st and 58tt

  • medium... that is the biggest of the 2 sizes they make, correct?

  • correct

  • get it build quick, I need to take it for a polo-trial-spin ;)

  • I have everything needed for the bike (except v brake caliper) sitting in my bedroom. It will be getting built up the day it's delivered.

  • does the scissor actually have bosses for v-brakes? or any drilling at all...?

  • No brake bosses but I'm almost certain it has drilling for a rear brake http://www.billys.co.uk/english/group.php?prod=bsdnvps

  • Copycat ;)
Rik, are you thinking of upgrading the plug?

  • I am

  • i'm getting sucked into this purely because i want to run 47c.

childish as there is nothing wrong with my current bike.

  • Give the frame a quick weigh when you get one please as I would like to know what it weighs and info is scant.
They also appeal to me because of tyre clearance so I could get some 40+ tyres on there which would bring a bit more comfort on my off road excursions to say the least. Could be quite nice off road with longer TT and shorter stem than typical road/track frame.

  • I'll be getting some bigger tyres and a freewheel for some offroad action. I think 47 randos might be a bit heavy for riding everywhere (they do look sweet though).

Arghhh I'm so stoked about getting this bike built now, can't wait.

Don't bother with the freewheel, fixed off road is more fun than on road.

Randos can come up fairly light if you get the folding ones but I haven't looked into 47c. I use 35c depending on what frame I have and they are pretty good offroad yet still come in at around 450g.

  • Fixed is no fun when you are spinning out on all the downhills. I will be freewheel all the way.
