there are a few unpleasant sections, no "honest climbs".

Personally I would have been completely knackerd on 49/15. I was on 48/19 and it's sweet. As above, there are some hills to get up but nothing super long.

OK: keep the gearing easy Dammit, esp as you;re going with less experienced cyclists. They should watch out for the one that had a couple of bends in it around Chigwell/Grange Hill (I know! GRange Hill! I thought it was just a telly place too). And a couple of small but steepish humps on busy roads right near the end that take you by surprise (cos its mostly flat around there) when you're a bit more knackered, they're at Hullbridge and Rochford.
Have fun.
I find climbing is more stressful when its a busyish bit of road as you feel like you're holding up traffic by going slow. Which you are.

Hey guys does any body have this route?
dammit you could dude. there will be a few bits that aren't much fun on that though. but yup, no real hills to speak of. i am not a fan of using track gearing for longish road rides but each to their own.
