• dammit you could dude. there will be a few bits that aren't much fun on that though. but yup, no real hills to speak of. i am not a fan of using track gearing for longish road rides but each to their own.

  • there are a few unpleasant sections, no "honest climbs".

  • Personally I would have been completely knackerd on 49/15. I was on 48/19 and it's sweet. As above, there are some hills to get up but nothing super long.

  • OK: keep the gearing easy Dammit, esp as you;re going with less experienced cyclists. They should watch out for the one that had a couple of bends in it around Chigwell/Grange Hill (I know! GRange Hill! I thought it was just a telly place too). And a couple of small but steepish humps on busy roads right near the end that take you by surprise (cos its mostly flat around there) when you're a bit more knackered, they're at Hullbridge and Rochford.

    I find climbing is more stressful when its a busyish bit of road as you feel like you're holding up traffic by going slow. Which you are.
