i couldnt care less about it being NJS. its a nice steel frame with some chrome. that i like. the fact its specialised means that it will probably be well made, and hopfully on the cheaper end of the scale.

Here is the media blurb:
The new Langster steel is Specialized's first foray in to the world of Keirin racing. It will be the only mass produced NJS stamped Keirin framest made outside of Japan. Specialized have teamed up with Dokuru and will be providing frames and componentry to a Keirin team in 2010. Langster steel sold as frameset only, expected to arrive in Continental US stores by August 09. MSRP $650

so not first njs specialised frame after all
actually, while the new Langster isn't Specialized's first NJS frame, the one in picture is an;
"Allez by San Rensho"
San Rensho is 3Rensho, the Langster Steel is probably the first American NJS frame (I think). -

Nearly all manufactures have either down graded spec, upped the price or a bit of both for 2010.
-
• #268
they do that every year sometime, either it's the same spec or a cheaper version.

don't argue with him ed, he works in a bike shop.

Argue all you like but I'll still be right ;-)
It is noticable on all the bikes this year more than most from what I've seen.
-
• #271
So will the silver numbers from this year be coming down in price any?
-
• #272
I doubt it I'm still reeling over the price hike on the Bianchi Pista for 2009... wallet ouchie!
-
• #273
The 2010 langster is the same price as the 2009 langster, at least in one major bicycle retailer.
I'm pretty sure the '09 was £450 when it came out last year, if it isn't still that price?
the price hike of shimano is putting a lot of the geared market up as well. This might lead to SRAM getting a bigger foothold in the market though, rather than loads of expensive shimano-clad bikes.

I quite like the all-black look on this. Still to persuade my boss to sign up for Ride-To-Work before I make a decision though :)

I want one of those red steel Langsters. Look lovely to me; better than another Bob Jackson that looks like every other Bob Jackson while it's owner pretends it's doesn't.
I'll be leaving the country for a short while now.
Does anyone think a certain fan of Specialized products is rather conspicuous by his absence in this thread?
On second thoughts he may well be round the tattoo removal ;)
