Haven't you people ever heard of, closing the god-damn door?
-
• #54
still i am glad my hair twin is safe....
Greasy Slag, much as you have lustrous and rather envy-making hair, I think you *might just be pushing it *hoping for the hair-twin reference? Or are you hoping for a bit of "double" work?

They were technically at work. Johnson has done a few of these photo calls where he makes out he's riding around to reconnoitre potential routes for Cycle Highways.
Fixed.

Spun.

God, watching driving like that makes my blood boil. Why the hell can't motorist show a little patience with cyclists some times. Trying to overtake there is madness!
-
• #58
That is something like instant karma. The instant he forms the thought 'fucking cyclists, I'll push my way through, see how they like that!' he ends up smashing someone's property and getting caught on camera doing it. The fact that cyclists were endangered kind of lessens the karma aspect, though.

• #59
that's the thing, do we know that the drivers dislike cyclists?
don't jump to conclusion and create an 'us vs. them' situation.

Remember they're people like us, there's dickheads who ride bikes which is something that a significant amount of people here seem to forget so don't assume all cyclists are better than all motorists.
-

^ Yeah I agree, it is very easy to jump to the conclusion that the dangerous behavior of motorists is due to malice, whereas it is most likely due to ignorance. The lorry driver seems to show a lack of patience overtaking the cyclists around the outside of a bend on narrow streets. He felt he could squeeze his truck through the gap but failed to show much appreciation of the danger he was placing the cyclists in. Reckless?... yes, but malicious?

that's mental! could have been a whole lot worse i suppose

I think the point is that it's worse if it's due to him being inpatient. If it was malice then he has some reason. if it's impatience then I feel it's worse. It doesn't matter if it's malice or because of the lack of patience. It will result in the same thing if it goes wrong - Death of a cyclist.
It's not surprising that mmccarthy is semi trying to defend the driver. He's on the wrong forum.

The difference is dickheads on Bikes don't kill people when they make a "mistake" due to lack of patience.

You are right of course.

It's not surprising that someone who makes that assumption is also wrong, I think you'll find i've blamed the driver twice and not defended him once, now either prove me wrong or accept that you're wrong and apologise.
Thank you.

• #67
Looks like you were semi defending the driver to me?
What about your point about there are dickheads that ride bikes and aslo drive cars?
How many dick heads that ride bikes have you heard about that kill people because of lack of patience or because of a mistake?
-
• #68
mate, he didn't take anyone side, he's merely trying to figure out what happen.
his point is that there's always a bad apple in any kind of transport group, be it's taxi, buses, cars, cyclists it doesn't matter, there's always going to be a bad drivers amongst them.
-
• #69
That's my opinion, and I think it's a fair one.
It does, does it not? Are there not road marking there? That was a question I asked and didn't get an answer, maybe if you had the sense to read the bit of the sentance that you've seemingly forgot to quote "if not then yes, he was going too fast."
If it looks like i'm semi-defending the driver to you, that does not mean that i'm semi-defending the driver.
What exactly is semi-defending anyway? To me it sounds like i'm in the middle, considering both points of view, is that what it is?
My point about dickheads on both is that too many people think that only motorists are dickheads on the road, while i've seen a lot of cyclists being really fucking stupid on the roads, but if there's a cyclist/car interface, a lot of people here will automatically discriminate against the motorist.

[cyclist knocked down and killed a girl because he did not want to slow down.

Thanks Ed, i'm merely looking at both sides before jumping to conclusions.

We dont know what the truck driver was thinking (or saying) but looking at that video it looks like he wasn't thinking at all.
