It was.

At least that's what it looked like Jonny Lee Miller did.

Legal for Scottish TTs though.....
Not for long; from 1st Jan 2012, Scottish testers will have to comply with UCI regulations.

It's been twenty years (and one day - oops) since this:

Imagine buying that, then fitting a new chain and finding out that the chainring / sprocket is worn and needs replacing.

Also reserve still not met at 1300 quids.

It was already reserved at 840 ;)

And Cancellara is out, for the time being
http://velonews.competitor.com/2014/05/news/cancellara-puts-hour-record-attempt-hold_328366I'm guessing he fancied his chances of 49.7km on a retro bike. I can't see how any new record on a proper bike will have any cachet unless it surpasses Boardman's 56.375km

And now Voigt is going to have a go http://m.cyclingnews.com/news/voigt-to-attempt-hour-record

If Cancellara wants to lave it a few years there's an alternative hour record to break http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/news/11462168.UPDATE__Hither_Green_cyclist_aged_84_sets_new_world_record/

That's nowhere near the true hour record for the 80-84 age group, he's just an opportunist exploiting the fact that UCI are a bunch of twats who haven't heard of the VTTA. The true record is H.H.Hill 23.352 miles at age 80 indoors, or J.M.Lee 20.433 miles outdoors at age 84 if you want a precise age rather than just a 5 year band.
As a result, UCI age group records are about as meaningful as world records for sitting in a bath of baked beans, limited to Crosse & Blackwell to exclude the vastly superior athletes who used Heinz.

Interesting, I imagine his coach will have telemetry data from the SRM which will allow him to direct Jens?

I think the old fashioned way of watching the clock and 'walking the line' will work.

Is that just one of their TT frames with the dropout cut off?
I thought his traing method was to ride a big gear up a big hill as hard as you can for as long as you can.
