Phil? Surly?
-
• #7128
Of the two, better match for a SON dynamo would be the Phil I guess?
-
• #7129
Fixed rear hub with decent weather sealing.
The generic System EX/Amboriso/Condor/etc. hubs.
Phil would be the ultimate and does match the SON hubs nicely.

Well I was building up a 35mm deep 26.6mm wide disc brake only carbon tubeless ready wheelset today.
So it is not just Hunt that do them.
-
• #7131
Miche Primato simple as that unless you fork out for Phil wood.
Edstobel mentioned the other but forgot the Zenith hubs.
-
• #7132
Zenith! lots of different names for the same hubs.

What rims?
-
• #7134
Go on then fill us in . What tubeless 32 carbon compatible rims and what disk hubs in 135mm ?

Anyone tried to get repairs on Campag factory wheels ? Went down a pothole and it's dented the (front) rim on a Zonda. Is it possible to source new rims for them ? It's probably going to be easier just to buy a new front though I'd imagine (although I can't find anyone selling fronts only at the moment).

I bought a pair of rims from my usual source and am putting them together. They will be brand BORG like the other carbon rims I use. 35mm deep 26.6mm wide and 19mm internal width. UD finish. I bought a pair as I needed them in my hands to measure the ERD and to test builds with SP carbon Ti hubs which I now import as well (given evolution imports has packed up). I guessed the spoke lengths unusually quickly. I will be creating a spoke length chart vs ERD so those that want to build with them wont have to guess the spoke lengths. That work should be done only once by me. Must be getting good at this. I will be buying more rims as they seem just fine (although I need to ride them first) and building up with Miche SWR (for 6 bolt miche reliability and common thru axle compatibility), Carbon ti (for light weight and coloured hubs) or DT Swiss hubs (if centrelock is wanted and compatibility with oddball thru axle standards) all for J bend spokes depending on budget and if 6 bolt or centrelock is wanted.

lost cause new rims are not cheap and generally not available quickly. special order through the distributors. This is te down side to factory wheels.

Thanks for update. But really got boner for the hydra rims.
Dat width

They are nice looking rims. I think the grey rims look great with silver spokes and shimano cx 75 hubs.

Agree, not a fan of centre lock. Solving a problem that didn't exist.
Not true. It protects hamfisted mechanics from themselves.

Agreed.

Hopefully the last chapter in my Chainreaction Cycles shitshow. They now claim to have started processing a refund, so I might see my money back within 5 days. From a falsely advertised wheelset I ordered on the 12th and actually told them to keep, before it shipped out. After wasting hours chatting with customer service and being lied to and forgotten about. What a fucking shower of cunts. Never again.

Their whole business is a clusterfuck at the moment due to the Wiggle merger
-
• #7145
So I can't even take my business to Wiggle now as it's the same company? Bike24 it is then...

If CRC is being fucked up in the process of integrating into Wiggle, Wiggle should be the same as they ever were. Whether that's good enough is a separate question , but it sounds like the end point is CRC becoming the same as Wiggle, not Wiggle becoming the same as CRC.
-
• #7147
It's all a question of degree I guess. I've never forgiven CRC for the credit card breach that they never admitted.
Hopefully they'll be swallowed up by, and their incompetence diluted in, the merger.
I hope so as I've just chosen to buy from Wiggle rather than Fisher Zyro (£100 difference) in order to have customer service that is worth the name in case the turbo goes wrong (Tacx QC is apparently "variable").
-
• #7148
zyro fisher is meant to be trade only if they are selling direct then say one thing to me and another to you dammit not you them!
-
• #7149
I would be buying with a trade account.

• #7150
Ah, so you're buying a Tacx Neo then? It's on my shopping list too. Didn't think I could really put in on my Christmas list. No-one loves me enough for that.
Fixed rear hub with decent weather sealing, what's the best available?
