Those of you with the Superstar Pave 28 wheels - how much do you weigh? They look like a great deal but I'm concerned that at 82kg I'm going to destroy them, especially as they're only 20/24 spokes.

Just laced my alu climbing wheels.
Wanted something better suited to shity weather descents. With a wide rim for a 25/27 tyre set. But light enough for the up bit.
586g front
664g rear
1250g the pair.
Happy with the weight.

What rims/hubs/spokes? Excellent weight for wide alu. Looking for a similar build for my CAAD

Been riding my aero wheels for a week now. Best wheels ive ever ridden. Just feel super smooth when at speed. Yet are stiff as.. When climbing out of the saddle.
Part of me thinks I must have built all previous wheels a bit poorly. They feel that good.
1445g the pair.

Tune hubs.
CN spokes (cheap alternative to Cx Ray).
Kinlin wide tubular rims.I had the hubs already. So it was a cheap build. I can find the rim name if you want.
-

Forgot you ride tubs on everything. I'd rather clinchers but wouldnt mind knowing the weight of the rims. Hubs as well if you have the weight too
-

Assuming the hubs are Mag170 and
Mig70s, they're 175g rear and 78g front. They're light and lovely (I have some too) but very uncheap. -

Mag 180
Mig 70About to do a full ceramic upgrade on them. The Mag 180 has a weird bearing I've had to copy using two different sized bearing and a couple thin spacers.

The rims are weird.
Front - Kinlin TB20 = 411g
Rear - Kinlin TB20 = 358gHubs
Front - Tune Mig 70 = 78g
Rear - Tune Mag 180 = 184gSpokes
CN Aero 424 = 4.5gNips
DT swiss squorx alu. -

Ah, the notorious XOT bearing. I can see why you'd want to replace it.
-
• #5362
Front - Kinlin TB20 = 411g
Rear - Kinlin TB20 = 358gI'd have put the heavier rim on the back :-)

Nice wheels. What do you think of the CN Aero spokes? Have you used them previously?
-
• #5364
Do the maths.
4 spoke holes weigh 53g.
Epic spoke bed. -
• #5365
I like them a lot.
Used them on 3 wheelers now. -

Urgh. New Kinlin 22T rims, 25mm Pro4 Endurance tyres, Easton EC90 fork.
About 1.5mm clearance each side to the fork. Plenty of space everywhere else.
Worth taking for a test ride or is this just a bad idea?

Change to a tyre that's actually 25mm, as Michelins size up massive in my experience.
-
• #5368
Lovely wheels (both sets).

I road a 28mm pasela panaracer* with similar clearance and it was OK. Admittedly there was a touch more on the sides though.
But also what timmah said. 25mm Pro4 are actually 28mm. Not really sure why they don't just call them 28mm maybe 25mm sounds more pro...

My Pro4 25s on Open Pro measure 25mm.

My Pro4 25s on Open Pro measure 25mm.
Which is why they come up at closer to 28mm on the 24mm wide Kinlin XR22T ;-)

Sure. It was a response to...
25mm Pro4 are actually 28mm. Not really sure why they don't just call them 28mm
They probably don't call them 28mm because on the rims they were designed for they don't measure that.

I think you need to specify exactly which of the 4 versions of the Pro4 you have; apparently the Comp/Comp Ltd are narrower than the Endurance/SC
-
• #5374
Mine are SC.
-
• #5375
Fair enough. I never measured mine, but they didn't fit in the rear of my TCR and 25mm Bonti Racelights did. So that plus other people's reports is what I based that on.
But I'm now tempted to mount them on the stock narrow DT rims.
Hah. Weekend bike and I don't ride as much as I'd like :/ .. and they're being retired right now. New wheels arrived earlier this week, just waiting for new tyres to join them.
