Anyone got any pics of grey ano archetypes all laced up?
and/or ones with worn braking?
I can do this for you tonight, although they are a bit dirty and I'm too lazy to clean.

I'm also interested to see how the braking surface wears on those

Those looks nice! Make me wish i dident go with open pro cd on a recent build. How is the brake wear on these ano hson rims? Not that it would matter for you on that bike.

^ not my biek; the anodizing will wear if you use them in the wet and use any other break pads but swisstop green.
-
• #1682
I have used swisstop green. The Ano lasted a month or so, but as soon as it saw rain, it was gone.

Yeah that sux. Mavic should reintroduce the ceramics. Not the latest version tho that were crap!

Cheers Hovis
A pic worn would be ideal, no cleaning necessary

Was supprised to see these exalith wheels for sale:
http://www.lfgss.com/thread107889.html#post3637591Didn't think they would wear that bad!

Ive seen JB's but the ano is supposed to wear less on the grey ones / be less noticeable
-
• #1689
^ yea defo less noticable, but the least noticable would be silver;

Well, all of the anodizing on the brake track has worn off now and it just looks like any standard black rim with a silver braking surface. Using Swiss Stop Green's and the braking performance isn't amazing, but it's adequate.

no point being precious about braking surface colour if using brakes really. Unless you can afford exalith but even that wears off eventually. Rogan if you are ok with black archetypes ask JB.
Well i would guess a huge part for most buyers of grey / ano / ceramic rims etc is because they dont have a different looking braketrack. So i would think for most (me included) that part of the lure is ruined if they wear and look worse of then just a regular silver braketrack.
Mavics ceramic rims use to look the same for years no matter what i did to them. The latest versions however had all sort of issues and were not up to par. Now they are discontinued, a pitty imo.

do it all wheels
There's no such thing.

I just build such wheels for my g/f.
Unless you mean the severe lack of aerodynamic v shapeness that make people go fast.

There's no such thing.

That's just the worst scratch, the braking surface is still in pretty good nick, more so on the front somehow
When Mavic first introduced exalith they said it would never wear off, before quickly backtrackingWell i would guess a huge part for most buyers of grey / ano / ceramic rims etc is because they dont have a different looking braketrack. Apparently, the only guy who knew the ceramic process and developed it, left Mavic and then died, couple of lackies tried to recreate it but failed
I doubt its true but I'd like it to be
