Possibly just on the court? don't you get reebok written on basketball nets sometimes?

fail!
Do you mean the faceguard? I like it. It would have saved me 4 stitches on the top lip and looks like it won't interfere with vision.

Wouldn't it cover mallets coming from below which should be the only things you really need to worry about?
For a mallet to get through it would have to be some kind of overhead smash?!
-
• #564
or you could just be looking down
-
• #565
I'd be more worried about leaning ever closer to the ball/action with your new found safety, then crash, dislocated neck.
Cages are good for avoiding bruises, split lips and chipped teeth, yep. But I'm not convinced that I want/need one? (Cue face injury in the next couple of weeks for Jon.)

Ummmm, what about the ball ?

I'm buying one of those 11 quid jobbies. May throw a grill on. Anyone know a source for cheap grills? Preferably mean looking ones.

The ball isn't going to do anything though? Ball to the eye: Bruised eye socket.
Tennis players don't need face cages at 100mph+?
-
• #570
tennis ball != franklin.
That being said, I'm not sure it will do anything. Break a nose probably. Don't want to find out, really.

Cricket players do .....
And yes, a ball to the face will break your nose.
Me and Gabes demonstrated this some time ago.

I heard that a tennis ball is more easily compressed so presents more of a danger to your eye?
A puck is dangerous as it has a flat/sharp side which can reach the inner eye if presented to the socket in a "biscuit giving" way. A ball is fine, it'll push your eye back but cause no real damage... mallets with protrusions are a whole different matter though and should not be allowed in play.
A cricket ball can fracture a skull, a franklin can't...
Broken nose, meh.

How did the ball cut your nose? Painful.
-
• #575
Cos it's really quite hard and there's not much skin on the bridge of your nose, therefore the impact split the skin.
Ironically it was my own shot .....
Woh, didn't get what this meant, assumed it was some kind of in joke I'd missed... B that looks unpleasant! Hope you get better soon...
Has someone cursed bad?!
