tried them out yesterday, pertty good, lots of dexterity and the plastic on the knuckle is so tough you wouldnt even notice a mallet hitting it... but the great thing is they're made of leather, so will last long and have pads on the palm...

mc_nebula suggested using paintball gloves, I haven't got the money to buy them at the moment but I think I'll give them a spin when my (weak shitty) 661 gloves die.

not sure they'd stand up to much "armoured on the knuckle just to make you feel safe"

Too far?
+1 on motorbike gloves, I'll be wearing mine tonight.

Looks like there's padding at the front to! :)
what's the cost? Depending on that I'd go for American football hip and thigh pads, bigger not subtle, but I think they're more effective...

Ha, nowt worse than 'gash-bash'. HipShield, protection for the elderly, can get for about £20.
I'm all about discreet padding so I look hard and not the old(er) woman that I am. -

I'm not a fan of padding in general but this last week has been hell, I need my hands to work so that I can do my job.
I'm seriously considering dropping the coin on some Lacrosse gloves.

Buffalo Bill is HOBOCOP!
This fact has been known for some time. -

those gloves are good, but similar to ice hockey which you can get cheaper.
what are field hockey glove like?
-
• #139
cricket gloves would be good and cheap, they have good thin leather palms so you feel the bat properly. they do everything you need, but i'm guessing people wont like the middle class aesthetic.
-
• #140
The ice hockey gloves are no where near as flexible in the joints as the lacrosse gloves though?
Cricket gloves would probably work but I can't buy leather.
-
• #141
all this fuss about your hands and no one else protects their face/ears/etc?
as you were. -
• #142
i'm into the face protection, really want to find a cage i can put on my helmet.
-
• #143
lacrosse gloves would probably be pretty good, the palms are very thin, and the fingers and thumb are much more flexible than hockey gloves

I don't care about any of them either?
I've been thinking the same thing Max, picked my motorbike gloves from the garage this weekend. They are the same as these:

I think they should be good for polo, going to try them this week.
