  • This: looks like them

  • Wicksie I'll give them a try alright if they are doing nothing but gathering dust.
How much? Or is there anything Margs would take for a trade?

Let me know how you get on with CRC H-Bomb...

  • these look pretty hardcore

  • good for killin'

  • $75 though. Bit too much for gloves.

  • yeah, pretty expensive, look cool though, and would help with all the gang wars in moss side when I gotta use my AK

Probs not much more than a fiver. Monday?

  • Probs not much more than a fiver. Monday?

Okey doke. Fiver sounds good. I'll be in for Monday (8:30) once it isnt raining.

  • for those of you who have mycro hurling helmets, what size have you got and what size is your head? also does anybody know anywhere i can get one for less than £50?

  • anyone want some lizard skin elbow and knee pads?
    special price

  • I still have one of those hurling helmets that Alexis sports.

    Anyone interested, unworn.

  • yes please, what size is it?
I'll be at Hackney Downs tomorrow, will you be around?

  • Not tomorrow. Sunday.

It's x-large and big. you need a big bonce.

  • Spoons, I'll take a look, might be interested in that.

  • so (bike) protection thread: What's everyones opinion on the Cinelli bike bag? Ihave a bag at the moment but is made fo really flmisy material and has a bit of a rip in it. Was going to upgrade to the Cinellli bag, but how long do they last? don't wanna upgrade to something that is only going to last a few trips

  • i have a cinelli bag woody, its not good, it might say cinelli on it but its very thin. I 've ripped and poked mine everytime i have used it.

  • Yeah that's what I feared. I might just use mine till it dies and I can afford to splash out on a better one

  • It's a trade off, I would rather a light-weight bike bag that I could fold away and carry easily, even if it ended up with holes in.

I've seen nicely padded ones that will last forever but they are really heavy and you can't really ride around with them on your back (which you need to do when travelling with polo).

  • Has anyone had the balls to try going without a bag? Apparently you can just take the pedals off, and turn the bars, and the airport will give you a clear plastic cover and the bag chuckers will just wheel it on, rather than topple it over and put a dozen suitcases on top.

I've heard lots of positive reports of this method, but it seems high-risk...

  • Ryan told me about this ^ when we were in Barcalona in the summer. He thought that people would take more care of a bike that they could see.
The thing is with a bag you can put you pads, mallets, locks and shoes in there. When I fly with my bike it always with polo stuff and it wouldnt work if those things couldn't go into the hold (I also nearly missed a flight in aus because they were not happy about the mini d in my hand luggage)
If you have a lot of stuff you can split more weight this way as well.
I have seen quite a few airports that will have a box that you can borrow, but the only time I have used one it was open at the other end. Luckily nothing was missing, but I was put off using one again

  • What I would quite like is something like this:

    a giant messenger bag/bike bag/rucksack
(this one belongs to will from Melbourne)

this one is small, light and cheap and folds up to an a4 size in a little pouch.

  • I'm playing in Brisbane today, knee and elbow pads, Bauer with face cage and big-ass motorcycle gloves... It's gonna get sweaty...

Jamie's lending me his bike, I'll be falling off a lot...

  • that looks wicked erin. comes with dropout spacers too. Agreed snoops, something that could be used as a camping mattress though would be good too. I like how ste carries his bag. Strapped under his top tube.

  • Erin's bag is the best bike bag I've seen, no question... not sure if you can get one in the UK though?
