Here is a good example of why filed down axles are very important. This really hurts, got me between shoulder blade and back and i didnt know what part of the bike had caused it, (crash with paul where he landed on top of me) until i looked at my shirt this morning. It was still a fab night last night though.

ouch! although that does look more like a nut than an axle.
I've been thinking about getting rubber covers for my nuts… …just putting that out there
-
• #1134
I'm not Googling that ^
-
• #1135
you can "I'm feeling lucky" it
-

thats what i was saying sandy. This is the damage with filed down (i'm assuming they are arent they paul?) imagine how deep that would be without filed down? Rubber covers is a good idea, but i bet they get lost pretty quickly.

You can get capped bmx axle nuts (3/8"), don't think anyone makes them for regular 10mm axles though?

Ah yeah, I see what you mean now.
A little bit of glue inside would keep them on for longer and they probably don't cost too much.

Shit, didn't realise it was that bad, hope you're alright B. It can't have been my wheel nuts as I'm running QR front and back, and I'm not sure how you could have landed on your own wheel when you went down.
Those BMX wheel nuts look like they'd stick out miles, even if they are less likely to catch on something.

Yeh i'm ok just sore. might have been my own wheel nuts then, but i think i was still clipped in. weird.

My RockGardn Fate gloves have a large rip in the palm, beyond repair.
Any glove recommendations?
Non-leather please. -
• #1142
Kevin, have you still got the receipt for them?
I have two fucked pairs that are less than 12 months old, Gabes has another pair, if you want I will send them all off to Rockgardn, they can't really ignore 4 sets of fucked gloves.

Yeah Tom, I didnt know that when I bought them, & I'd rather avoid it in the future.
John, I got it through Chain Reaction, so I could print off the order details / receipt. I only got them at the end of July.
But yes that would be great if you could send them off. -

My eBay £10 fake oakleys are still going strong after 6 months, literally no wear to the palm at all. Would recommend. All synthetic too.
-
• #1146
What are they called...?
-
• #1147
duh Kev - "Fake Oakleys"
Or search ebay for oakleys and anything cheap will probably be fake
-

They're usually listed under something general like 'carbon knuckle paint ball gloves'. The ones I got had a BIN of £10 and from a UK seller, but I just had a quick look and most seem to be a bit more expensive/overseas sellers now though.

Margs has a pair of mediums that are a bit big for her for sale if you want to try them Kev. Worn once.
