Ah thanks mate that really means a lot to me 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it. More to come and it’s motivating to actually get a set somewhere soon.

yes mate. i've been blasting your mixes all day! one of the benefits of WFH i guess! 😁
wish i had the time/space/kit to get back into a bit of mixing...
have been doing a bit of amateur 'producing' lately though. done a couple of d'n'b bits and bobs but they're very WIP at the mo... -

I can really recommend the Denon Prime as a space saving bit of kit. Have really enjoyed playing with it and it keeps me on my toes with the digital world.
The only negative is that the whole world is on Pioneer. I think I need to mirror everything in Pioneer’s Rekordbox if I’m ever to play out anywhere. Hopefully that’s not a big deal, otherwise I might look at the Pioneer XDJ all in one systems but they are twice the size.
What are you using to make tunes? I only made one - ‘Legend’ on my Hearthis page - I think that was in Logic. I needed a lot of help, though. I think that’s the next step for me, though. Get a decent PC and start sequencing some loops and that. Maybe even take some refresher piano lessons so I can do some chords on a midi keyboard. I remember when making the tune my mate had something called a Virus or something that was shit hot.
Post up anything when you’re ready. I’ll give it a DL and shove it in a mix!

Yikes! 2 grand! That guy has gone on to produce top ten artists though, so a good ROI for him!

Do it bro, reckon you'd make some nice bits and you don't have to spend loads. Great fun dude.
Go with logic if you've already used it before.
Some more jwip. Leroy 'mafia' Haywood on the bass. Mix needs more time but you can catch a vibe.

I went to the book launch last night, it was good, but there was no questions and answers session. The man who took the photos for the book (I forget his name) played a mini set, then someone else did.
Ray Keith and Aphrodite came along, RK with two record boxes, but when the 2nd dude asked him if he wanted to play he said no.
I left just after 9 because the pints of Roadie were a little bit too tasty. I had a very wobbly Boris bike ride home.
And I got a copy of the book! Thought about getting it signed, didn't.

Sounds wicked. Reckon that venue would have other stuff like that on?
Speaking of books, this sounds interesting

oof! that's some talent right there!
have you ever seen jeremy ellis on the NI maschine? insane skills...
-
• #912
Hadn't seen that before. Crazy skill enough, but then two handed. Mind bending. I think I could barely figure out how those machines work, leave alone master them in that way.

he trained as a classical pianist i think.
the problem is he makes it look easy.
years and years (and years) of practice and dedication. -

pianist
Thought as much - that or guitarist. He could go up against Dave Mustaine with finger skills like that!

fellow megadeth fan? 😅

• #916
I would say yes, but generally just Rust in Peace, but an enormous fan of that record from start to finish. Couldn't get into the other records despite trying a few times. The bar is just too high with RiP.

Great stuff. I’d seen the stuff about De Underground getting a plaque on various social medias, great to see that there is investment of time and money to document these things before it gets lost. I’m still constantly amazed at the stream of old, lost or forgotten stuff that’s coming out and there’s a story behind all of it.
Spandangle Selection just put out a couple of plates worth checking out, including the amen mix of Burial:

Just stumbled on this today. Don’t think I played LCS, but GTA III is burnt in my brain. Would loved to have done some missions to this soundtrack - check the TL:
