Why the hell do people wear nice suits/office clothes, only to ruin it by wearing WHITE trainers on the tube.
Wear black man, colour co-ordinate that shit!I HATE this ^.
Alot. It's makes my blood boil in a way that is a totally irrational and out of all proportion to the offence.

Re: newspiece on look east this evening. A company is asking that smokers clock out when going for a smoke and clock back in when they're done.
I am a non-smoker and have worked places were smokers are allowed specific breaks whilst non-smokers continue working so this makes complete sense to me.
One lady on the news (smoker) argued that it's no different to when someone makes a cup of tea or goes to the toilet but if you're doing those things as well as smoking then you're getting more break time than everyone else.

Why do people call the lift, when clearly the button has already been pressed and is illuminated? What else do you bring to the table by doing this? Certainly not a reduced waiting time. The lift is coming – somebody else (maybe me), has already pressed the sodding button. It’ll come when it can. Just wait.
Frantically pressing the button because you’re late for your meeting on the fourth floor is the very definition of pointless. Stop doing it, otherwise I’ll have another funny turn.

"bring to the table"?
-
• #184
Yeah, funny choice maybe. The deal’s done though – the lift is coming. Their (additional button-presser) contribution is null and void. So they’ve brought nothing to the table.
-
• #185
What table?
-
• #186
The metaphorical one
-
• #187
Oh.
Well maybe he didn't see it? maybe he didn't know he was meant to be supplying metaphorical substance to place upon this metaphorical furniture?
-
• #188
The lift table, silly!
-
• #189
^^He should have taken the stairs then

• #190
Take the stairs you lazy sod.

It has also done no harm.

• #192
No doubt about it. Still a pet-hate of mine though.
-
• #193
fuck off - everyone knows that pressing the button more makes the lift come faster.
-
• #194
yep - its like the button for the pedestrian crossing.
-
• #195
Take the stairs you lazy sod.
I am not allowed to take the stairs in my office due to health and safety concerns.
instead I have to call a lift from the ground floor, up 38 floors, so I can go up one level to the cafe.

A watched kettle still never boils though
