Oh and you can thread forks to take a compression cap using an M24/M25 x 1.5 tap.
Where can this be done? I'm assuming it'd need to be done at a frame builders and not just an LBS? I need to chop the steerer on the ESB…
-
• #830
^ I know Sol just cut the steerer slightly and trimmed the cap down to match.
Still held tight enough -
• #831
Yeah I did that for a bit but I want to trim the steerer down some mo'
-
• #832
Buy the tap and do it yourself then offer the service I everyone else for a pint or two.
Be the go to guy.

Can have reader's wives? Just picked this up today
Grime Goat featuring NS fork, Primo Pedals, Burro straps, MacNeil 175 cranks, EighthInch splined sprocket, KMC chain, Formula 10mm front hub, Resist 14mm rear hub, Sunringle MTX33 36h rims, Demolition stem, Resist Headset, Geax and DMR tyres
Gusset bars and United saddle borrowed for now.
Pretty sure it's too small, so may save all the parts for a Large 700c MKE Bruiser...
