A ride would be good
Clive's arse ride?
There will have to be two big hills though. :)

(I wish)
One would have to be bigger than the other.

if time does not permit the changing of cleats, I can simply change shoes.
Clive, this is sublime.
Of course I remember rasberry ripple! I just don't know my London dialects yet. What's ryhming slag for ryhming slang? I accused some poor young chap of probably being too young to remember glow sticks the other day. He looked confused, no wonder. -

Seriously though, it would be good to arrange a ride for when you are fully recovered.

One would have to be bigger than the other.
And we can all dress as nurses.
Progress is good Clive, once that ass heals you can start talking out of it again on the football thread X

I too hadn't read this thread till now. Unfortunately I just got to it while trying to eat my lunch.
Heal up Clive - sounds appaling.

Every time I look at this thread to read CLiveo's latest, I'm hoping for good news. And finally it seems we have some! We're all behind you mate. No pun intended.
Keep healing. But take it easy...

And so it goes on. The wound in my buttock is still wide and sore but the flesh is red and sore not pus-ridden. This is a sign of healing or so I am told. I pop along to hospital every day where they cleanse and dress the wound. They have moved on from algae based packing to a silver packing and it seems to be drying out. Not as much fluid but still a significant amount that constantly threatens to slide out of the side of the dressing and be-spoil my trousers or whatever I happen to be sitting on. I cannot see inside the wound and sadly MrsO didn't bring her camera to hospital yesterday and so I can describe how it is looking but have to rely on the comments of nurses.
At least now i can walk. Not far but previously I was under instruction to walk only where necessary. Now I can walk gently and further which is nice and, instead of spending the weekend lying in bed being morose I was able to drive Guy down to Herne Hill yesterday and the two of us sat in the sun like a pair of old invalids. Luckily Guy's broken leg is a little more obvious than my butt wound and so people probably just thought I was an old man who liked to look a people cycling. Another Winston perhaps. Today I went to the football which was far preferable to watching it on television. Seeing cyclists while driving is frustrating but I am considerate and do not vent my frustrations by trying to push them off the road.
A few more weeks. Hopefully I will soon be down to dressing changes every other day and then in a month or so....

Good to hear that things are looking up.
Keep getting better, Clive -

Phew. Good to see you are on the mend Clive. Good luck and here's to a quick healing process.

Good to hear Clive.
I like the idea of the Clive ride. Start at the Huntarian Museum at the Royal College of Surgeons and then do a loop of the major hospitals.

Given past experiences of forum rides, a route that takes in plenty of A&E departments might be sensible.

Then we must do drinks first, naturally.

and take hip flasks.

clive, could you recycle a buttock bag?

Good news, Clive. Hope it continues this way!
Mike, not at Newport this year (the last time I rode my bike in anger) but last April, a month before I rode 600 miles in five days in Ireland. The stripping of skin at Newport was a distraction from the operation I had but a few days later and made sleeping rather tough as I had no skin on one buttock and an operation wound on the other.
Object, I have Look Keos and now own a lifetime's supply and check and change them very regularly. One benefit of my accident was that MrsO insisted that I bought a new pair of Sidis as she thought the issues was with the shoes and not the cleats and so I now own two pairs which is nice and which also means that, if time does not permit the changing of cleats, I can simply change shoes.
Mashton, it was a pleasure to spend a bit of time talking about something other than my arse. Believe me, it has rather preoccupies me over the past two months.
A ride would be good, but it will be at least a month and probably longer before I am riding again. I will be so fat then that hills might be an issue unless we wait until I trim down a bit.
