don't do it with cleat pedals whilst wearing chelsea boots. i felt he could have avoided the situation.
ive commuted in northwave celcius all winter, clipped in - should i avoid busy junctions?
I hope the rider is insured, else thats one more calling for us to pay our way.

no one deserve to have inflict harm thundering down upon them, they deserve to have a near miss that force them to realise they're riding dangerously but saying they deserve to get hit (especially when it's quite likely for him to get killed if he landed head first) is a low blow to be honest.
Sorry Ed, I don't like hearing of accidents either, but if he is willing to risk his life that is his issue, in which case he deserves all he gets, just as we all do if we take a risk.
I am guilty of hopping reds, but I do it with respect to other road users, and this chap didn't. Fortunately this chap didn't get killed, if it had been a near miss, no one would have commented, and he would be just as blasé the next time, maybe he got a wake up call to his ignorance. -

if you are in that much of a hurry that you feel the need to not stop at busy junctions then leave a bit earlier.
but if he'd done that, the 4x4 wouldn't have been there at the same time as he was, so it couldn't have hit him, thus negating the need for him to have left early.

yeah , i think so. which is why there is so much outrage in this thread. sometimes hipsters wear football boots with the studs taken out so they look like cycling shoes. its cheap but it gets the look and its hard to tell if you have a low gear and spin alot apparently

I don't think Steed wore striped drainpipes and a haircut he could barely see through.
And connoiseurs of which are referred to as pedalphiles.
