Eyebrows, if you want some recommendations for some dark films, the Wolf Creek thread had some good ones. Watched a few off some recommendations from the thread. Having said that, there were few uplifting films.
@31, I will indeed!

They said no romantics ya big girl! Excellent score in that film.
It's not really a romantic film though =P
Anything with Juliette Binoche is definitely worth a watch, the woman can do no wrong, and yes, the score is fantastic!

David Lynch's Dune. Rubbish but excellent.
Saló or Porcile. Informative interesting and nice. If you like pasolini, sodomy, rape, and dislike fascism.

deepthroat, you cant get a less romantic film

Summer of Sam is one of my favourite "real" films. Really, really good. Milk is the only recent film I've seen, it's good (even Sean Penn surprisingly) but it might be a little too preachy-gay.

What was the Sean Penn film with the score by Eddie Vedder about the guy who went turned his back on College and went off into the wilderness with no money? Really enjoyed that

Rec is probably the film that has shit me up the most. Mind you I did watch it on a laptop in a dark room with my mate with a few whiskeys at 1am (I would suggest watching it like this). Stayed with me for days....
Definitely recommended.

I was going to recommend into the wild..
Instead I'll recommend The Royal Tenenbaums, I Heart Huckabees and if for some odd reason you and the young lady fancy a really beautifully made ridiculously long war film: The Thin Red Line.

Photoben, I just googled REC... I have seen the US remake called Quarantine. If its anything like REC, I can understand why it messed you up. Scared the shit out of me. I'll def check the original. The girl in Quarantine was also in the Exorcism of Emily Rose, another recoomendation from this forum. Shes a seriously good actor, and I may have a little-boy crush on her (which is weird considering the first time I saw her she was possessed by the devil)

To be fair, it was about a ridiculously long war.

I wouldn't say six years constitutes a ridiculously long war..
The film on the other hand is nearly three hours long.

Watch the original version of rec - subtitled but fucking eerie - makes the american remake look rubbish -
Also, coffee and cigarettes, if you're into that sort of thing.
