awesome day peeps. was lovely to meet lots of new friendly faces. mad props to scott & gina & phil for all the organising. think it could be the start of a wonderful new tradition, although next time i am pushing for the compulsory bunny ears/tails.
hey velocio- that was me in the jacket. yes, it is cycling-specific- a danish brand: http://www.danefae.dk/
i brought it from black truffle in broadway market - i had drooled over it for months but couldn't justify the price- but they had been marked down to half recently and after sitting through too many footy matches with soaking jeans and subsequent numb legs i had to get it.
http://www.blacktruffle.co.uk/66/67/
(on the site they are the full price; at the broadway store the purple/blue one is half-price = £63 for the large and xtra large.)
I got a large one and while it is voluminous, it fits easily over whatever i have on underneath, so it works for me. (the red ones are still over a hundred quid...)
my short review of it so far: material is certainly waterproof, despite being all cotton and PVC-free. (thumbs-up to no VOC's). the seams are all sealed really well internally. the zip at the front can be undone from the bottom so your legs are covered while you cycle. (this was the clincher for me) the pockets fit an a-z perfectly and have velcro closures so nothing will fall out. there are internal cuffs so the wind won't blow up your sleeves. the material is quite thin so it folds down pretty well.
gotta love those danes and their dedication to practical cycling fashion. i give it a nine out of ten. (one point off because the slipperiness of the fabric means the belt doesn't stay tied very well. and there are no adjustable ventilation bits on the back/under the arms)

Really well done folks, that's truly great. You should be proud of the organisation and effort that went into that. I'm sure it brightened the days of a lot of kids and their families.

Dropout and Fresh look like they've got a fair bit riding on it n all...
Congratulations to you all.
Fantastically sincere gesture.
Wish I coulda been there.
It looks like it was all very worthy of Scott's summary.

Well that was fun! Sorry I had to split at the pub, but I had sick kids of my own to check in on. Well done to Scott, phil and gina for organising it. The highlghts for me, apart from the obvious, were the staffy trying to get the bunny off the back of john's bike in ladbroke grove (I said it was like the hare at the greyhounds), and ritzy laughing mercilessly at the woman trying to double park really badly. Good day out!

Velocio - I think you may have found yourself a reviewer for women's cycle wear!
Had an awesome, awesome time yesterday. Stumbled across the this thread a wee bit too late to be able to donate financially (excuses excuses!) but really happy that I was given the opportunity to be able to help out with delivering the Easter goodies. Was especially happy about being one of the lucky ones to go round the wards in Whitechapel. The peeps there really seemed to appreciate it.
As with any other forum outing great company and having fun was a given. This one however was definitely special. Thank you Gina, Phil, Scott and everyone who played a part in yesterday.

aw man, it looks like fun! Woke up at quarter to 10, then ended up busy anyway, but spent the rest of the day regretting it. This Easter has passed under my radar totally.
Well done! -

I know.
I was just having an incredible dinner with ladystardust and we were saying how we want to see obsessive reviews that really do highlight important details that only those into fashion, cycling, mechanics would notice and think of highlighting... and here we are with williamshatnerpants doing precisely that with the venting, belt, etc... perfect.
Oh, and ladystardust loves the bird design of the coat :)

Hi lfgss,
Just wanted to say thank you very much for your kind donation of Easter Eggs for the young people.
The young people were very appreciative of the eggs.Thank you for the staff gifts too.
Its good to know that others think about those that are less fortunate than us & that young people in care are not forgotten & labelled as many people assume they are in care because of faults of their own.
Its people like you that make a difference.
Kind Regards
Sarah Harris
