Awesome work scott. You did a great thing here.
Phil and Gina deserve the most credit...i just came up with the idea and carried a few eggs. It was the end result that was most important to me.

Folks, another awesomely uplifting forum success.
Massive thanks to Scott, Gina and Phil for all your preparations which brought beneficial pay-offs for many folks today. The kind donors need to know that the eggs their money bought caused Phil and Scott to come off their bikes but they put smiles on faces of children and staff alike.Who was the Lindt donor? they need special mention here, also.
NIce to meet new (to me) faces: Williamshatnerpants in your natty Copenhagen rainproofs; Tony-(South drinks on Mon?); Fitzy your Little-Red-Riding-Hood basket of goodies was a true delight.
Bad-luck Eyebrows for not making it at all and to Nhatt's friend who bailed because his tyre completely holed.
Like Live-Aid I think this idea needs to be done again. yes?

Nice one, good job. Stuff like this make you forget about all the shitty things going on right now.

Yeah! That was fun. It was good to meet people I hadn't met before, or like Simon who I pick up packages from on a regular basis but couldn't place. (BTW, to those who know why I left early...looks like I'm in)

Wonderfull day yesterday!
A great ride, lovely people, loads of smiles on faces and quite a number of sweets...
Thanks to everyone who turned up to deliver the eggs.
Special thanks to scott and phil awesome work guys, really enjoyed working this out with you!It was so great to see the reaction of the nurses when we turned up with the eggs.
Superb idea scott, I think this definitely needs to be done again! With more time to organise, more eggs and more places to visit...
edit: Just checked when scott come up with the idea... a bit more than 1 week ago... amazing, what an outcome!

Yeah, I'm sorry I couldn't make it, I went to Devon earlier than planned on a train direct from Oxford, to feel better and be taken care of by parents and other family members.
This is possibly the best thing the forums done yet, and I'm ashamed i couldn't make it.
very excellent work, and just out of interest what hospitals did you visit?
There are a couple which have really important memories of friends for me. -

it did make for a real fuzzy warm glow - lovely folks to ride with, great moments taking the goodies in to share, cracking pics and as gina says, what a result for less than 10days prep! real testament to the generosity of the donators, the dedication of the organisers and finishing with dr pepper flavoured beer and chips! what more could one ask for?!

'Doctored pepper' as i've now named it is my new drink of choice without a doubt! :)

very good moniker! that will have to go in the book - ale with a dash of amaretto, topped up with coke, right?

In that case... awesome work Phil and Gina.
It's truly awe-inspiring.
Do I get to derail now? That long coat, I'm not sure of the name of the girl wearing it... is that a cycling specific waterproof coat? ladystardust has been getting soaked on her way to lessons over winter, and we've both been on the spy for something longer than the gore jackets that would help with that as she has to arrive presentable enough to go straight into teaching... so it'd be good to learn more about that. So... who is it? And tell us more!
-
• #218
aaaahhh... yeah, that coat is extremely nice, and cycle specific.. admiring murmurs all round. Up to the lady in question to divulge any more than that!
and on the photo commentary front..

If you had just had been on things enough to remove the bags and baskets before you started taking them you'd be looking at a new career.... sadly my photoshop skills would only mutilate them.....
I want to see the shiny photos. Can't wait. Well done all. Happy Easter.
