Rode my new Fizik Ladies Arione Donna for the first time today, on the Steamroller - less than 20 miles so far but I think it's awesome! Just the right amount of padding. Quite long but that's cool as I change position a fair bit. Not sure I've noticed the 'Wingflex sides'. I'm getting used to the floral pattern.

I am liking my Selle Italia SLK but not in combination with padded shorts. Did 40 miles unpadded on Sunday without a problem. Put on the padded shorts this morning for my 7 mile commute and went numb. Not sure if I perhaps need more of a cutout if I'm wearing pads or whether I'm just better suited to going unpadded.

Julia, just stalk ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SELLE-ITALIA-SLK-LADY-GEL-FLOW-BIKE-SADDLE-SEAT-WHT-2nd-/160616491726?pt=Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item25657d2ace
It's arrived. The price for vanity ... frikkin' customs charges and fees. Reminds me why I don't stalk the US bay.

I'm thinking of approaching the bike shop that I work in about getting three or four high end ladies saddles in so that you lot can come and ride them.
There are also a few wsd bikes in (both in small and mid sizes), so I think they are already fairly savvy to the needs of the lady rider and this shouldn't be much of an issue. -

(fair enough if used as affectation and a semantic partner to 'gentlemen', otherwise it's wrapped up in all kinds of nasty gender/class politics - just sayin')

I'm still using Xander's Charge Stool and although it's fine for pootling around London I would like to experience what a saddle designed specifically for female anatomy has to offer me.

Women has the word 'men' in it thus I prefer the word ladies. Better still gentleladies.

'Men' are only a part of 'women'.

Hmm. I never thought about it like this. The saddle I've got on now (3rd attempt) is fine without padding for about 50 miles. Anything more than that...I'm starting to wonder if I need to start trying a variety of padded shorts. Not cheap though, eh!

worth every penny not to walk like John Wayne. I have some bog standard endura baggies with a non-removable lining that do the job v well

I've found the closer the fitting shorts, the better the comfort/less erm...tenderness, which is a shame as my bum and thigh are way better suited to a baggy look.
Biggest revelation I've had for shorter rides though is seamless knickers. And at 3 for £10 at M&S v affordable. I can usually do up to 50miles with those.
