Elections? Oh come on you can't seriously believe than an occasional tick-in-a-box is the be-all and end-all of democratic expression?
Well you've got a lot more faith in your elected representative than I have. What if the person whom you believe to be doing wrong is the one you voted for? Just accept that it's all your fault and next time you'll vote for his/her opponent? It was a joke. Chill out.
Mind you if you seriously believe that smashing places to shit is democratic in any way at all then you have nothing to say and you're saying it too loud.

Ha ha don't worry I'm quite chilled out, just going through the motions of an internet 'discussion' i.e. two parties not understanding the context/emotion of what each is saying.
I don't think anyone here has condoned smashing places to shit though, have they?
Violence is of course a bad move - protest is not though, regardless of how much detritus it leaves behind, or how late darling is for supper because of the dirty protesters. -

Straw-man argument, and not a subtle one either !
Must try harder.

The key is that you do it because you are expressing your views in a way that gets them publicised.
OK it's not an ideal form of communication but it's central to democracy, and until you come up with a better way of letting the government know your feeling en masse, you're stuck with it.
As for 'if what they were campaigning for was so worth while we would all back them', well that's just silly isn't it?
Coming up with rhetorical nonsense about 'The Game' is possibly the most ineffective way of contributing to a democratic process.
excellent!
the best route is through forums.. cycle forums in my experience.I'd not go so far as silly, bit harsh? they have fewer more focused goals that were better articulated we would support them (we all want better living standards) As it stands we have 1000's of people hiding a number of attention seeking activists campaigning against everything from Tibetan human rights to tax to recycled russian napkins.
Nothing will result of their efforts

i love these kind of things
the one back in the late 90's was amazing so many peopleon liverpool street that lunch time
i was working corner of bishopsgate / london wall at the time
people in the offices locally were photocopying £50 notes and throwing them down onto the protestors
it all ended a bit silly a mass riot all the way from the city to central london and finally ended up in in oval where we were " held " for a couple of hours before having our names taken and releasedif anyone has some cunning slogan they wish me to present to the bankers please let me know
-

The banks got it all wrong and many a company has gone tits up, thus rendering many many people unemployed.
They could also be taking time off to support something they believe in.

it could be a good opportunity infiltrate and kill a workshy stoner?
it would get blamed on the police.
i have an old levellers t-shirt if anyone wants a disguise
This says more about our country's media than the intentions of said protesters in my opinion.
