  • Losing my shit currently to Tekken Card Tournament. Anyone want to challenge me my username is Col-Rider.

  • facebook app is actually going to drive me insane, every other post is a suggested app or targeted advert, apart from hiding every advert individually, which seems to take forever on my iphone4, as this latest version is sticky as hell, is there any setting I'm missing which could turn them all off. Forever?

  • Everyone's 4 has been slower since the last update. Hopefully iOS 7 will if that. Or if I get paid before then, I'm buying a nexus.

  • iPhone 4 is always going to be a pig due to planned obsolescence (like it's predecessor, iPhone 3 with iOS4), so you'll either have to deal with it, or upgrade the model.

  • I really hope that's not the case, at least not for another year or so. I really like my iPhone 4 and £7 contract...

  • It is the case, Planned obsolescence in software, my girlfriend also complaining about the 4 starting to feel slow.

I found out the hard way with the 3, couldn't afford an upgrade and did what Ben's doing.

  • Anyone have an ipod touch for sales?

Don't care on the condition so long as it works, will consider cracked ones.

  • It's probably somewhere here but why the fuck does my iPad keep dropping the connection to the wifi?

  • bt home hub jobby? my ipad's ok with it but the airport express comes and goes :/

  • Yep home hub and open reach router.

  • Anyone used the Line 6 mobile keys for Garage Band?

  • Everyone looking forward to their day becoming a little brighter tomorrow?

    #sarcasm

  • You mean the 5s, 5lite, new iPad and iPad mini with retina display?

  • Got a 4S for mrs. spenceey but the damn thing is locked to voda.

Is there an easy way to unlock these - can that sort of thing be done on line now? I seem to remember reading somewhere that these shops offering to do it 'cheap' will only unlock the phone until an update then it will be locked again.

  • Vodafone should unlock it for you if you call them. Probably charge for it though...

  • the permanent unlock is handled by apple and their big list of phone serial #'s

you ask voda to unlock it, assuming you meet their unlock criteria you pay them ~£30 and they ask apple to unlock the phone in itunes.

expect it to take a good few weeks and not to work first time around, i was going to have hatmissus's old iphone 4 but am still waiting 6 months later for the unlock to finalise. there's also some bullshit thing about needing an active sim on a supported network to do the unlock which as her old sim is dead means i need another unlocked phone with mini sim card that will let me activate my giffgaff sim so i can use it to finalise the unlock process or something.

in the end I gave up and got a htc one on contract. and haven't missed apple ios since. still <3 my mac's though.

  • Seriously? it take that long? it usually take a couple of hours.

  • i think it depends on if there's any problems with the process as they wont even deal with it until a month has passed.

  • i also expect unlocking requests go up when a new phone comes out because everyone then unlocks their old ones after they upgrade.

  • Really?

That's mad - 6 months to unlock. I was hoping this would be like a week worst case scenario.

The phone is locked to voda - I'm not on vodafone - will I have to buy a PAYG sim then unlock with that?

  • 6 months is just because we've hit an impasse and i havent bothered to do anything about it.

if you have an active sim that is the correct size and is on one of the major networks you should be fine.

  • Brilliant - So I can put her T mob/EE sim in there and that'll work?

  • can't you just take it to one of those dodgy little phone unlocking caves that are so common in places like Dalston?

  • It is the case, Planned obsolescence in software, my girlfriend also complaining about the 4 starting to feel slow.

I found out the hard way with the 3, couldn't afford an upgrade and did what Ben's doing.

Mine feels frustratingly slow, but I put this down to me getting more and more used to my electronic devises feeling fast, ergo making the 4 feel sluggish by comparison

  • I have the 4S which were lighting fast compare to the missus' 4.

    Definitely going to avoid iOS7.
