can anyone recomend a nice rubbery but low profile case for the iphone4?
my free bumper has died due to having to be removed everytime i plug it in. bought a cheapo clear pastic case of amazon which arrived today. it's crappy, slippy and cheap feeling. do not want.
i want something minimal, protective and grippy.
this arrived yesterday too.
used it to film my band rehearsing last night. worked a treat.

I have one branded "gear4" that I quite like. Rubber bumper around the edge with a clear plastic back on it so it's grippy/cushioned but still pretty easy to slide in and out of pockets etc. Got it at an O2 store IIRC.

everything you plug it in what?
look at Incase (transparent one), their clear case look like a win, my dad's happy with his (and much better made than the alternative).

I've been doing bits of filming using my iPhone but am not satisfied with the internal mic so want to use an external. I've read lots on the web and it seems one needs a connecting cable to make it work - a 4-pole 'TRRS' male to 3-pole 'TRS' 3.5mm female, XLR or whatever your mic connection is. I'm not massively tech-savvy so this might be a simplistic description.
Several people using an external mic with their iPhone have recommended this mic so that's what I've bought: Audio Technica ATR Series Omnidirectional Condenser Lavalier Microphone - Black: Amazon.co.uk: Musical Instruments
Most of these people are in the US and buy this adapter to use with it: http://www.kvconnection.com/product-p/km-iphone-2trs.htm
But I found this cable in the UK which looks identical: http://www.lambda-tek.com/componentshop/index.pl?origin=gbase16.5&prodID=B594904
The problem is it doesn't work, so I'm wondering if the wiring or componentry is different? Any ideas? Will I have to order one from the bloody US?!
Cheers

What about the iRig mic? It's more geared towards music recording than voice but it gets good reviews and has an accompanying app...

• #1533
the irig is supposed to be pretty good, not too dear either

Sure, sure - looks good; but I want a discrete lapel mic for interviews. Can anyone help me resolve the original dilemma?

• #1535
Hey! That is an unfair merge! This isn't about iOS or apps...

Shit. I just bought one. Had wanted one for ages, but couldn't justify the cost.
No pub for a month or two, and no new bike bits! But at least I can now browse LFGSS on the toilet. Heaven.

It's a great price. Site seems to be down for me now, though. It's definitely legit, right?
Already put my details in, so I hope so!

Fuck it I've ordered it.
Picking up from the store tomorrow - I picked one outside the city so I haven't got to deal with the fuss tomorrow.

Hmm no confirmation email, is that normal, maybe they've sold out?
