'Merge', that's a good game. I believe Hippy quite enjoys it.
Not sure they're the same...

This is not a thread for people who have no use for them and want to moan about how its a big IPOD touch etc.. etc.... this is a thread for people who own one and have a use for one, like myself who uses it everyday for work and to stifle boredom on trains etc.. and would like to discuss useful stuff they have ie apps, accessories etc....
OK I will start, any photographers etc... needing a portfolio, the app called "foliobook" is stunning.
I will go into more apps etc... later today.

I have one.
I can do work on it (Pages, Numbers and OmniGraffle) but mainly use it for dicking around with music stuff and whoring social networks.
Also, surprisingly to me at least, I am using it quite a lot to read books on.

My missus got one a couple of weeks ago and it is rather lovely. I have to say I don't think she's using a fraction of it's capability though. I'd welcome some tips on good apps etc.
So far she's used it for email, browsing, watching a couple of films and scrabble.

I got one to take notes etc in lectures. Except really I got it to play with, that's just my excuse to make it ok that I spent a good chunk of my student loan on it. Anyone use handwriting recognition software, is it any good? I'm going to get a pogo stylus before term starts and have a play, see if it is as good an option for notetaking as I think it will be.

No but I'd be pretty interested to hear if you find any that are good.

you can run it as another screen in capture one
just a geek toy before i realised you could do this.
i use a 13in laptop because i like the portability adding an ipad would be better than using a 15in/17in more usable screen space and lighter and more versatile. -

Fact.i was thinking about this yesterday. i have no idea why people attach so much importance to having or not having these things. evangelists, fanboys, zealots and haters... it's a mystery to me.
with the exception of an ancient mac classic back in the early 90s i haven't owned any apple products until very recently. i would have liked to give them a go based on friend's testimonies but found i couldn't justify the additional expense over cheaper and perfectly functional pcs and other phones.
as it turns out i got a new iphone recently for not much outlay and have lucked into getting my hands on a free ipad. i'm enjoying playing with them and finding out what they can do. end of story. i don't feel any more cunty now than i did two weeks ago. i certainly don't want to be more cunty.

i like apple stuff. it's easy to use and integrates well with my kind of work.
that's about it really i'm not queuing up to buy the first thing they release or hating on p.c. people.
i dismissed the I-fanny-pad until there was a productive reason to have one. -

Some people just love to hate. I couldn't care less. Get a life, cunts.

I really like the Ipad - more as a gadget, than as something of genuine use to me - however i went to a meeting yesterday in a coffee shop, to meet a some dude who one of my colleagues thought i could do some business with, and the first thing he did was get his Ipad out - my instant reaction was WAC!

Personally I'd like one but can't justify spending £600 on a toy.

+1, some folks on here are made of money, they should give it to me instead =)
