  • Loved Dirk Gently although season 2 was weird

  • Chelsea Detective

    Yes, just started on those.

  • Dirk Gently

Great idea that certainly wobbled. A few more of that sort of mystical, strangey type stuff.

Ever Decreasing Circles with the wonderful Richard Briers
Chance In a Million with Simon Callow and Alison Steadman

  • Dirk TV is nothing like the books.

DiP is still running on TV while the rest have long gone off air.

  • Loved ever decreasing circles, wonder if I should watch again or would my memory of it be tainted.

  • DiP is still running on TV while the rest have long gone off air.

even got its own spinoff "Beyond Paradise". mixture of Boyle's The Beach, face huggers and DiP, only set in Devon

    j/k its DiP in Devon

  • You are really selling it to me as a must watch.

  • Can’t get into any series at the moment as Taboo and Slow horses are done so tried the Peter Capaldi thing on Amazon but stopped after 25min as it wasn’t doing it, decided to try the Thick of it movie about the Iraq invasion, loved it!
Believe it or not I have never seen the series so I’m in for a real treat.
(Apart from the YouTube clip about Star Wars, fucking his sister and hanging around with a space dustbin)

  • Try and find avenue 5, not politicalish but still funny. Hugh Laurie is in it.

You are in for a Malcolm Tucker treat. He is such a silver tongued devil.

  • don’t have NowTV or Sky go so no access to Avenue 5.
These older series do tend to move around though so will see it at some point.

  • Charlie Cooper's Myth Country is enjoyable.
Has prompted a rewatch of This Country as well.
    Still love it.

  • Really enjoyed This Country

  • I have never seen the series

I'm down to the final episode and it's all been brilliant so far

  • Why have I never watched Detectorists before? It's wonderful. Which is probably not news to anyone other than me.

  • Where have you been?

Wish I could watch it all again for the first time. So good.

  • Ah sorry, watched it as a friend recommended it for Hugh Laurie being the brilliant actor he is. With a very engaging and funny TV. Armando ianuccuis is really good and like the characters. Also liked Rebecca front, but I really like her as an actor.

  • Try and find the 1 series TV show the middle man. Very silly sci fi, lots of pop culture references.

    Enjoyable TV.

  • Late to the party, but I just binged Blue Eye Samurai. Really enjoyed it - one of them best things I’ve seen recently (possibly since Scavengers Reign, another animated series).

Apart from the finale, which I felt was a slight let-down.

  • I felt that, the ending was a bit of a surprise to me. S2 going to be interesting for sure!

  • Don’t want to spoiler for anyone, but it felt a bit out of character and implausible. But yeah, I’d love to see a series 2

  • Finished Slow Horses S4 tonight, I thought it was the best yer.

  • Grotesquerie Serial killer, Nuns, alcoholic police, great scenery, humour, sex, twists, food and great acting. What's not to like? recommended.

  • Finished Slow Horses S4 tonight, I thought it was the best yet.

Absolutely. Loved it. The end of ep05 when the credits ran with the sounds of the last scene carried right through, masterful. How the awards aren't piling up for Gary Oldman, wonders?

  • Where have you been?

    Living under a rock, apparently.

Wish I could watch it all again for the first time. So good.

    Agreed. Funny and heartwarming.

  • Yeah it's brilliant. The Xmas special aside.

Mortimer & Whitehouse Gone Fishing is in the same vein, I bloody love it!
