Todays Ted Lasso is a delight.
This weeks succession was spicy too. Lots of excellent lines.

It was a good'n.

I really don't understand Lasso love fest that goes on here.
I watched the first season, every character was the most boring one dimensional stereotype and their story arc was so obvious from first episode. its so saccharine sweet it makes me want to gag, what am I missing ?
(I know fuck off etc)

what am I missing ?
A heart?

I can't remember how to do that spoiler drop down thing so I'll choose my words carefully.
The part where it all seemed to be getting on track and then descends into chaos. I understand the point - people with behavioural problems aren't "cured" just because things are going well and actions have repercussions.
Maybe it just hit me at the wrong point in my own mood.
Otherwise I've really enjoyed it.

A heart?
Pow, they're gonna need a magic sponge for that burn.

Just me, or is The Mandalorian just a bit rubbish now.
-
• #8459
Rather, aren't all the star force spinoffs a bit rubbish now.
-
• #8460
Both of you don't like it?
-
• #8461
I really like the first two series but series 3 has gone all phantom menace IMO. Quite annoyed it's been aimed at kids now rather than middle aged men

Not just you. First two seasons were pretty good in that they seemed to be self-contained, 45-minute 'Western'-style, 'stranger comes into town, solves problem/beats the baddie' kind of episodes. Season three has been a bit Ewok/Phantom Menace and more like standard series, i.e. 'cliffhanger' style, ongoing plot. I stuck it out but wasn't impressed. Not sure I'll be arsed as and when the fourth season gets thrown together.

when the fourth season gets thrown together.
I think i saw somewhere that there won't be a fourth, but a feature film that ties up ALL the Filoni-Spinoffs.

• #8464
Suspect that won't be high on my watching agenda either.

Paramount+ will always take my money when there's new Beavis and Butthead

Just finished Picard S3, what a great show, just the right amount of silly

We finished watching Swarm last night, think a female Stan (Eminem) fixated with Beyonce. From the people who did Atlanta. A good watch.

Wu-Tang -in real life does the RZA sound like a badly dubbed Shaw Brothers movie from that guy in Camden during the 90s?
The dialogue and acting are clunky

Yes, but it’s worth looking past that
-
• #8470
I tried and wanted to keep going but I’ve binned it off.

I binge watched about 6 episodes of the first series before my subscription ran out but thought each episode got better. I've heard it continues improving so will resubscribe once i'm done with Happy Valley.
Admittedly i'm a big early 90s Hip Hop fan but i think it has Mass Appeal once it gets going.

Top drawer Lasso this week.

• #8473
Best episode this series, for sure. Some proper laugh-out-loud bits - had to rewind the bit with the kit lad pretending to be Beard a couple of times.
-
• #8474
this ep still had some grim bits in it but it was much more upbeat whereas the rest of this series has been a bit too much of a downer
-
• #8475
Yup. Excellent. On par if not slightly better than last week.
For the most part...
