  • their free offering is actually ridiculously tiny once you take away the straight to vhs bargain bin shit that literally no one has ever watched that appears after the first couple of pages.

I once watched one of their ghost hunter shows to see if it was paranormal activity style fiction or derek acorah nonsense, so now all i get recommended is shows where some idiot has a handicam with night mode wandering around a dusty warehouse while their mate throws pebbles at them off screen. none of them are even 1-star worthy. gcse level media studies coursework type stuff.

  • You liked it so much just watch it again!

  • Queens Gambit on Netflix. Watched first couple of episodes last night and really enjoyed.

  • "how to with john wilson". very strong nathan for you vibes

  • 2nd'd. Two eps in and it's excellent. Pacing is absolutely bob on for what could have been a very dry subject matter.

  • I ended up just setting up a payment pin because explaining that the Prime app has a whole variety of stuff that may or may not be free but it isn't that obvious either way was too much of a faff.

Although the most annoying thing I find is that Up Next or whatever it's called isn't front and centre. If I want to watch the next episode of what I was watching I have to hunt around to find it for some reason.

  • The Truth Seekers on Prime is fairly enjoyable throwaway nonsense. Surprisingly a bit creepy in places

  • yeah I quite enjoyed it.

  • Finished Snowfall.

Bit of an odd season finale. Assume there will be another. Will watch.

Glad that from S1 on, they managed to recover the shitshow hack job of the CIA guy's character story.

Probably used shazam more with this show than all others put together.

    Definitely not trying crack.

  • Really enjoyed the Queen's Gambit on Netflix, don't know much about chess other than basic mechanics but the show was really well shot and acted and more about the person, although the chess bits got pretty tense actually.

  • Cool retro clothes, cars, sets and music too.

  • yeah i thought it was great. Such wardrobe, props etc budget! My wife used to work in that field so i get a running commentary of escalating production costs with this sort of thing :-)

  • Queen of Chess.

Starts out well, nosedives around episode 6.

    So many fucking montages.

  • I thought the first ep was lame.

  • Pshh, it was all good.

  • starting a rewatch of succession with the bidie-in

    so good

  • Just finished first season of Dave on BBC iplayer. Mix of high concept and childish jokes. Really really enjoyed it. Last episode was amazing.

  • Just finished it, really enjoyed it

  • Industry on BBC, Ep1 promising. I have no idea about the realism of the characters and pressures portrayed, but my brother who does something within banking says it is or was probably quite accurate.

  • I watched "The Vow" on Sky.
8 or 9 part series on the NXIVM cult.
Far too long and not that good.

  • Aunty donna's big old house of fun on netflix, ridiculous, puerile, base, childish, hilarious time filler.

  • Watched Small Axe last night. Powerful stuff. McQueen managed to make a full hour set in a court room watchable.

Great performance by the guy who played the snide copper. He was absolutely loathsome.

  • ^ Small Axe was very powerful, makes a good bedfellow with White Riot that’s just come in to Netflix.

^^ Assume you’re all referring to The Queen’s Gambit - it was a hit in our house, hard to fault it.

  • Just picked up a 4k Firestick. I have a 3-way HDMI splitter (this one I think) which works fine with a freeview box, Chromecast and laptop, but the Firestick won't show. It works when I plug it in directly.

Has anyone had anything similar? Know why it doesn't work? Or has a link to a 4-way that would work?

    Cheers.

  • It's possible it's not getting enough power, are you also using a power block that you can get with the firestick?
