  • Truth. Can't go wrong with Waititi.

  • Bit late but loving HBO's High Maintenance - refreshing look at city life

  • Just started second series of Fleabag. Strong opener!

  • That first episode of season 2 has some bloody tight writing.

  • No one discussing just how awful Arrested Development has become?

It's a complete clusterfuck. it's like it's written by the guy from memento. every time he sits down he just writes the same stuff he did last time but slightly misremembered. it's impossible to follow, I genuinely feel like I've already watched each episode and none of it is in the slightest bit funny or entertaining. I get it's meant to be all self-referential and from multiple perspectives but it just doesn't work at all.

  • My wife talked me into watching Fleabag, can honestly say I didn't enjoy the first series, the second seems to be a better watch. Maybe it's the use of slightly less chatting to camera.

  • fleabag = the new the wire don't @ me.

  • I’ve enjoyed it all so far. I feel like the balance of drama to lols works - certainly knocks the current Gervais-vehicle in to a cocked hat in that respect.

  • I liked the Gervais thing, although it's definitely a series, the individual episodes don't stand up as well as the whole.

  • I'm the opposite thought the first series of Fleabag was better than S2 so far

  • I thought the office was the one thing they didn't butcher?

No, Getting On was the one thing they didn't butcher.

  • We watched two episodes, didn’t find anything funny and just didn’t find any of the characters believable or relatable, so bailed.

  • It's after 2 that it starts coming together more, I'm glad I carried on with it. I get the unbelievable bit a bit though, I thought it was the kind of American style photography and sound but with British people and locations.

    that's great reviewing right there

  • Star Trek Discovery keeps discovering crappy writing ............season 2 is worse than season 1 ......

  • You're better off with The Orville. Seriously more like real Star Trek than Disco. Season 2 just gets better, especially liked the Double bill Identity parts 1 and 2

  • Orville is fun but different, I like both, one after the other.

  • Yep. I'm an episode behind but the "We Are Starfleet" monologues in every episode got boring after the first one, and the one with the cyborg character who is so insignificant in the whole series up to this point (and the whole of S1) suddenly becomes a key plot device who we are supposed to care about and feel for? Nope.

  • Yeah the cyborg episode wound me up. They had to spend most of the episode frantically cobbling together context for her, then all of the crew are more distraught about her death than about pretty much anything else in the show up to that point. Doctor guy didn't get that much feels when they thought he was dead, and he'd had at least some screen time by then.

  • top spoilers, lads!

  • yeah.... they suddenly forgot about Transporters in that episode to beam her back before she did anything....

agreed about monologues all the time ....and the incessant need to have at least someone get angry , cry, give up their life in every episode - jeez.

and the red angel episode - ugh - so much to spoil here for others...

also they introduced an engineering character a few episodes back, older woman with real mean-sass - and now she's totally vanished !!!

  • I still really like it, I think it over reaches at times but it's beautiful to look at and keeps me engaged...

I'm getting fed up wth The Orville, it's so white bread... Needs more smut...

  • this weeks 8 out of 10 cats does countdown
one of the funniest tv moments of the last 12 months
you'll know it when you get to it

  • Josh Widdicombe not involved then I take it....

  • Jimmy Carr not involved then I take it....
