  • Utopia was really good.

  • Just finished watching 'The Returned', French series which was on C4 months ago. Best series i've watched for a while. They're doing/have done a second series. Not sure I want to watch it for fear of it not being as good.

I thought 'Utopia' started well but lost it a bit towards the end.

  • Black Sails

Grown up pirate series, more twist and turns than a twist and turny thing. If you ever thought the pirate life was an easy one this puts that thought on its head. Gorgeous girls, scenery and pacey. Would be even better if I knew what was going on. The usual suspects are in it, Flint and Silver but very early days. Could run and run, but suspect not very cheap to make which could be it's death knell.

    Take a look.

  • piratebay.com joke.

  • I'm liking black sails.

Just watched the first, seems to have set everything out nicely. Not sure what the style is, or even whether it has a name but very British independent, very like Funland

  • revolution just never seemed to have any resolution, all of the characters/plot seemed to go on aimlessly, the only thing that pushed it forward at a snails pace was finding out why the power went out, but they farted about so much I stopped giving a shit about finding out why.

the swash buckling was a bit odd too. the power goes out and everyone turns into a pirate? wtf.

  • Salamander on BBC Four... not quite as good as the Shadow Line but worth a punt.

Any thoughts on Shadow Line - I think its the best thing I have ever watched on the BBC.

  • it's no 'mrs brown's boys'.

  • Any thoughts on Shadow Line - I think its the best thing I have ever watched on the BBC.

Rafe Spall was excellent in that. I loved it.

  • reccomend me something to watch on Netflix

I like stuff like French cop drama Spiral and The Returned....that kinda thing - is The Bridge on there?

  • my favourite thing on netflix recently is probably lillyhammer. tongue in cheek take on the stereotypical mobster as a fish out of water in norway.

  • The Bridge is on netflix, ace

    will check out lillyhammer too

  • Anyone watched veep?

  • +1 for lillyhammer. Also house of cards, Archer, orange is the new black (not seen myself but recommended highly).

  • True Detective just keeps getting better and better. Blows most of the current batch of Oscar bait out the water as well.

  • I was waiting for true Detective to hit Sky.. but just downloaded the first 5 episodes to mainline some soon.

    Archer is great

Is it as good as The Wire?

  • Oh let me tell you about the The Wire!!

Best. show. ever. You all really should watch it.

  • that's 'murder she wrote'.

  • Angela... Oh Angela....

  • I finished watching the final series of Dexter last night. What a complete waste of time, I wish I hadn't bothered. Pah.

  • You should watch The Wire.

  • or Breaking Bad

  • Archer is great
