Saw this yesterday - v interested. Don't really want a looooong cargo bike but something like this would be perfect. Also pretty reasonable money.
On the side: are the electric Terns not considered to be good? What are the other options for small bikes you can lug a child and some stuff around on? Vanmoof?

They aren't bad, some good engineering in them. Just about impossible to work on them in any reasonable amount of time though.
The brakes are a joke, made by a mftr that does not make brakes. They fail often, the master internally and the button just because why not. Shimano flat mount will fit with an mtb lever, but then you need a remote button and have to magic up the wiring.

That's the spec on e-bikes for the foreseeable.

Front tyre fits 👌 fine. No rubbing in the mudguards.
Schwalbe PickUp Pick-Up front tyre 55-406 (20x2.15)
20" Front rim inner width = 19mm
True tyre width at 3.5psi = 53mm so not far off specI took the opportunity to remove the inner tube core valve and added 50ml of tubeless sealant.

Gonna guess its just because that's all that is available for omnium to use, hardly any 11 or 12s shifters or mechs or cassettes available in upcoming supply.
Nexus 5 does not suit the typical omnium user for sure. -

Not seen one in person yet.
A lot of these indigo go /kickstarter type bikes are just wacky stuff from the usual suspects in mainland China, van moof seem to have made a lot more effort than most. They defo don't appeal to "lfgss types", but they do appeal to folk who want a bike that's main feature is a customisable horn sound.

What a beast! Nice fit. Looks like you've got a nice volume of air in that tyre vs. the 1.75. Looked up and the front is just under 200g more than the Marathon Plus which isn't much more for added comfort, durability and reliability. Love the old vernier calipers too! Good luck with the back one. :)
I'm guessing your tyres are being stressed a lot more than ours with using it for your work? Mostly we have a 28kg child with stuff in it (sometimes x2), but then it does the weekly shop and also we shift loads of other random items about we can get in/on it. It is garaged so out of the sun which I'm sure doesn't do tyres any favours.
We've yet to have any failures/punctures on our Marathon Plus's in almost 5 years, but I do regularly pull stuff out that's embedded itself into the tread. I did buy a Big Ben for more air cushioning up front, but never fitted as it offers less puncture resistance and the sidewalls didn't feel as resilient as the Plus.

Tyre pressure is dictated by the load. Here is the pressure guide from Schwalbe.
3.5bar / 50psi is bang in the middle

Looks great.
If you want 20" road tyre to match your rear, my Schwalbe Marathon Plus is going spare.
About 2/5 of life left in it & free.
Pick up from New Cross SE14 or Goodge Street on the days I'm in the office.
