Rode past that tonight wondering "how the fuck"

If you're going electric would it be best to do it then and run it off the battery?
-
• #7530
.
-
• #7531
I would pay someone else to do that I reckon.
-
• #7532
Need to see what motor / drive unit you are using
-
• #7533
-
• #7534
get dynamo, why use motor battery when you have small front wheel that spins like mad, @andymatthews runs TWO lights from his dynamo.
-
• #7535
Isn't using a battery to power a dynamo a bit inefficient?
-
• #7536
wait what? I am saying why take power out of battery for light when you can have super efficient dynamo with 20" wheel
-
• #7537
The power it takes out is pretty minuscule, more efficient than a dynamo I think.
-
• #7538
o rly? okay didnt know that :) well I had dynamo out of box.
-
• #7540
The battery and motor would be pushing the bike and turning the Dyno. So you're basically using the battery to power the Dyno. With losses.
-
• #7541
what about constant downhill?
-
• #7542
Only works efficiently when there are at least 2 scoble bricks drop to the bars from the saddle
-
• #7543
So buy motor.
I want to run Christmas tree lights off it. How.
-
• #7544
Link pls. I'm lazy. Going to look at some second hand bullitts and am confident enough to install a Bafang if it makes it a lot cheaper than new.
-
• #7545
this is the EXACT link of what I bought for £599 incl battery (350W 36v17ah) just before brexit but now Aliexpress adds 20% VAT in the cart.
-
• #7546
Oof, but thanks!
-
• #7548
yes, esp for kid carrying IMO.
I find 350w perfect for my usage (1 kid and sometimes haul heavy-ish loads of around 30kg)
-
• #7549
yep. Two B&M Dynamo lamps, one on forks and one on bars.

heavy-ish loads of around 30kg
🥲
Ladysmith bridge challenge - I have gone up that a couple of times with the UA XL @William. :)
