  • A long, dawn out project that seemed ultimately unsatisfying.
My impression anyway, from his write-up.
    Pretty though.

  • Larry vs. Harry is about to get some competition in Copenhagen.
Messenger legend, Jumbo's new prototype for his Omnium Cargo:

Here is what google claims he says about it:
"Very inspired by bilenky. Have added some improvements. The platform is mounted with bolts, so you can mount other things rather than let go with it. Disc bracket so you can mount the luggage carrier. 700c rear wheel and 451 front wheel. Lower center of gravity. Steeper head tube and fork, and not least that it is going to be sold much cheaper than a bilenky. The plan is to come div assesories, bla child seat mounting rail. Semi Soft top, cover with pockets.
There is also a short-like prototype John in the pipeline."

Very, very inspired by Bilenky's cargo bike.

  • Smallfurry- what panniers are those? I am after some for my Mundo?

I have some Overboard ones. Uber waterproof, and with roll closing. The clamps dont fit the large tubing the integratewd rack is made out of though.

I have some of these QR bunge straps which seem to work well. The fittings are bolted onto some rear braze-ons on either side, as well low down nearer the seat tube.

This rack extension could be a better solution.

But to be honest. I plan to buy the massive mundo bags, and move the bungees to allow them to hold stuff to the top of the rack. Once the babyseat is'nt needed.

  • Should recieve my replacement drop-out adaptor any minute now. Then its just a case of installing the rear wheel and we're away :)

Patterson drive cranks work so smoothly (on the workstand).

  • I'm designing something similar to this, it's not going to be as pretty, but made out of bmx cro-mo tubing. I'll start with a one-off prototype and then try to get a short batch of them done if anyone is interested (hopefully around £250 for F&F)

i would be VERY interested in this if it gets off the ground. please keep me informed

  • Bullitt's seems to be pretty populair in this thread. Just wanted to post this shit picture of the ultimate Bullitt (prolly not for everybody though)

... and the question on everybodys lips - yes it has Di2, yes it has Chris King all over (hubs and headset), yes it has powermeter, yes it will be upgraded with carbon wheels.

    no it's not mine.. :'(

  • Thanks SmallFurry - I agree that the MundoPanniers look the business - the cost is bit prohibitive at the moment - I might go the rack extender to fit my Ortleibs on.

With all the brze-ons on the rear of a Mundo. It should be easy to mod something neater than the extender, as you only really need the thinner gauge tubing, not the extension.

  • Refurbed Bullitt, now with extra dynamo action!

  • How much did that weight?! was it necessary to have a secure box?

  • Brilliant.

I rode a friend's Workcycle cargo bike (mainly used for toddler transport at the moment) the other day and it rode extremely well.

  • How much did that weight?! was it necessary to have a secure box?

    No idea what it weighs!

Yes, it is neccessary to have a lockable box, for lots of different reasons, but mainly the risk of goods being stolen whilst bike is unattended.

  • Met a nice lady around baker street on a mike burrows prototype "Black 10" it looked ace. she said it was easy to ride/lightweight etc.
    googled it to find pic:

How does the chain work on this? Does the top section loop under the bottom section at some point?

  • I imagine there is another pulley wheel just behind the stand and obscured by the box/bag which allows the lower half of the chain to run from the bottom of the chainring to the derailleur

    Exactly right.

I wonder how sturdy that kickstand is.

  • This one was made in the two days proceeding cyclocamp http://cyclocamp.org/ this year

  • Could carry a good load but had a tendancy to over turn

  • Trike alert!

  • Oh my god I hadn't noticed!

  • Perhaps this will make amends made at the 2011 Cyclocamp

  • That is the sort of picture that does irreparable damage to the good reputation of cyclists everywhere.
